What Is DeWalt?
DeWalt is a tool brand in the Stanley Black & Decker portfolio. Buyers should compare the exact model and its intended use when evaluating feedback. A review of a drill, mower or battery does not establish how every product carrying the brand will perform.
What DeWalt Customers Report
Independent feedback includes complaints about tools and batteries failing earlier than expected, difficulty obtaining warranty help, and lengthy repair or replacement follow-up. Positive reviewers describe tools with useful power and dependable performance, along with support staff who resolved particular claims.
When reviewing a complaint, check whether the customer identifies the model, purchase date, seller and outcome. A product defect, a retailer’s return policy and a disagreement over a repair estimate are different issues.
DeWalt Trustpilot Reviews
Checked September 17, 2026, the www.dewalt.com Trustpilot profile displayed a 1.7 out of 5 TrustScore from 336 reviews. It was unclaimed, with 78% one-star reviews and 8% five-star reviews.
This is the profile for www.dewalt.com; separate regional profiles also exist. Reviewers may describe different countries’ service and warranty arrangements. Voluntary review-site scores do not represent a survey of all purchasers and are separate from ZeroStars ratings.
DeWalt Warranty: Three Years, One Year and 90 Days
DeWalt’s U.S. and Canada warranty explanation describes a package offered on qualifying products: three-year limited defect coverage, one-year free service and a 90-day money-back guarantee. Those periods provide different benefits; they are not three consecutive warranties.
The limited warranty addresses qualifying material or workmanship defects. The first-year service benefit covers eligible maintenance and worn parts, while the money-back guarantee concerns qualifying returns. Coverage is subject to product-specific terms, proof-of-purchase requirements and authorized-seller conditions. Do not assume every battery, accessory, hand tool or piece of equipment has the same coverage.
For a disputed claim, request the applicable policy and the inspection findings. Ask whether the decision concerns eligibility, purchase documentation, normal wear or another exclusion.
Battery and Charger Complaints
For a battery that loses runtime or fails to charge, record the battery model, date code, charger model and tool model separately. Describe the indicator lights and when the problem started. Keep the receipt or retailer order history and ask customer service which component needs evaluation.
Do not assume the online tool-repair shipping process accepts batteries. Confirm the correct claim route before packing or sending anything.
DeWalt ServiceNet Repairs: What Qualifies?
DeWalt’s online repair instructions direct U.S. customers to ServiceNet for eligible tools. The program supports certain warranty and paid repairs with a stated maximum factory-overhaul price.
Batteries, chargers and accessories are excluded from this mail-in program. Large tools such as mowers, table saws, miter saws and large compressors are also excluded. Contact customer service for the appropriate alternative.
For an eligible repair, follow the site’s model-selection and purchase-information steps. Review any potential charge before submitting the order. Save the service order and shipping label, photograph the tool before shipment, and keep tracking details.
Repair Delays, Missing Parts and Repeat Problems
If a repair is delayed, ask whether the center is awaiting parts, authorization or replacement stock. Request a case update tied to the existing service order rather than starting an unrelated claim.
If the tool returns with the same issue, describe what happens during use and provide the prior repair paperwork. For a missing part, photograph the product label and identify the part from the applicable manual before ordering a replacement.
Retailer Returns and Manufacturer Support
For a newly purchased item that arrived damaged, incomplete or different from the order, retain the packaging and contact the seller promptly. Ask which return policy applies and whether it will handle an exchange.
Keep the seller’s response if it directs you to DeWalt. Tell customer service what the retailer has already done and whether you are seeking a return, repair or warranty review. Do not assume approval of one remedy guarantees another.
How to Escalate a DeWalt Complaint
- Write a brief timeline of the purchase, failure, support contacts and repairs.
- Attach relevant receipts, photos and service records to your private request.
- State the resolution requested, such as a coverage review, completed repair or correction of charges.
- Ask for a written explanation of a denial or paid-repair estimate.
- Request a review of the existing case if the first response does not address the evidence.
- Keep the case number and follow-up correspondence together.

DeWalt BBB Complaints and Parent-Company Information
DeWalt-related complaints appear on the Stanley Black & Decker BBB headquarters profile. When checked September 17, 2026, that parent-company profile showed a B- rating and no BBB accreditation. Its complaints page listed 144 complaints over three years and 51 closed in the previous 12 months.
These are parent-company figures, not DeWalt-only totals. The profile includes other brands. A BBB letter grade is different from a consumer star rating, and complaint counts do not measure the percentage of tools that fail. Check the business identity before treating a similarly named store’s profile as the manufacturer’s.
