About Xfinity
Editorial information by Eric Strand, founder and publisher of ZeroStars. This guidance is separate from the customer reviews above. Dated figures in this guidance are historical snapshots; the header shows the current published rating. Expand a topic to read more.
Overview
Xfinity reviews and complaints can help other customers understand an Internet, TV, Mobile or billing experience. Share what happened, which service you used and whether the company resolved the issue. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.
Xfinity is Comcast’s consumer services brand. The editorial guidance below explains support options and selected company policies; it is separate from the customer reviews and does not represent a survey of Xfinity customers.
What to Include in Your Xfinity Review
A useful review describes your own experience in enough detail for someone else to understand it:
- Service and location: Internet, TV, Mobile or another service, plus your city or state.
- What happened: the approximate date, relevant bill item, installation appointment or service problem.
- What worked well: reliable service, a helpful explanation, an effective repair or another specific positive outcome.
- Support and outcome: which support route you used, what was promised and whether it happened.
Choose the rating that reflects your experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Keep account numbers, passwords, payment information, your full service address and unredacted bills out of your public review.
Internet Outages and Service Credits
Xfinity’s app and outage map let customers check reported interruptions at their address. If service is unavailable, record the start and end times and save any outage notices. Tell support whether every device is affected or the problem occurs only on one device or in one part of your home.
For a recent outage, Xfinity provides a Check credit eligibility option under Outage map and credit on its support page. Eligibility applies; reporting an interruption does not guarantee compensation. See Xfinity’s outage and credit instructions.
Billing Questions and Refunds
If a charge is unclear, compare the current bill with the previous bill and your order confirmation. Identify the exact line item and amount you want explained. Ask whether an adjustment is a one-time credit or a change to your ongoing price, and request a reference number.
A credit on an account and a refund sent back to you are different outcomes. Xfinity’s refund guidance describes different processes for overpayments, canceled installations and closed accounts. For a closed account with equipment returned, the company says refunds to a payment method on file usually take about four to six weeks. Other circumstances can take a different amount of time. Confirm the amount, destination and expected timing with support.
Canceling Service and Checking the Final Bill
Xfinity’s cancellation page offers cancellation through its residential support number, a scheduled call or an Xfinity Store. Before finishing, ask for:
- The services being canceled and their effective end date.
- A cancellation confirmation or reference number.
- Any remaining equipment or device obligations.
- The expected final bill and the effect on other services or discounts.
Track cancellation and equipment return separately. Xfinity notes that a final bill can include adjustments or unreturned-equipment charges in its cancellation FAQs. Keep confirmation records until the account shows the expected balance.
Returning Rented Equipment
Xfinity directs customers to its Digital Return Center and lists Xfinity Retail Stores and prepaid UPS shipping among the options for eligible rented equipment. Match the equipment serial number to the return request and keep your receipt or tracking record.
The company says a shipped return can take up to two weeks to appear on the account. If a charge remains after a documented return, ask support to investigate using the receipt and serial number. Follow the current equipment-return instructions; Mobile products and certain other devices have separate procedures.
Xfinity Mobile: Plan Changes and Device Returns
Before canceling home Internet while keeping Mobile, ask how the change affects your specific plan. Xfinity’s policy distinguishes newer plans that can lose a multi-product discount from older plans that can incur a standalone mobile fee. The rules are not identical for every account. Check the Mobile policy for changes to other Xfinity services.
For Mobile device purchases, Xfinity’s current return policy lists a 14-day return or exchange window starting at delivery or an in-store purchase, with separate terms for accessories. Conditions, fees and shipping deadlines apply. Use the Mobile return instructions and the label supplied for that return, rather than the rented-modem process.

Frequently asked questions
Xfinity FAQs
Are Xfinity and Comcast the same company?
Xfinity is Comcast’s consumer services brand. An Xfinity account or bill may also refer to Comcast. Use the support route for the service on your account, particularly when distinguishing residential service from Mobile.
Can I keep my mobile number when leaving Xfinity?
Xfinity instructs customers to transfer their number before canceling Mobile service. Coordinate the transfer with the receiving provider and Xfinity, and confirm completion before requesting disconnection. Its cancellation page links to the transfer instructions.
Does posting on ZeroStars open a support case?
No. ZeroStars is an independent review website. A published review shares your experience; it does not cancel service, request a refund or create an Xfinity support case. Use the Contact Details section for company support.
Can I leave a review if Xfinity resolved my problem?
Yes. Explain the original problem and how it was resolved. Reviews describing successful repairs, helpful employees or corrected bills can be useful alongside unresolved complaints.
