Overview
Carnival Cruise Line reviews and complaints can involve booking a trip, paying the remaining balance, requesting a refund or getting help during a sailing. This page covers the cruise line at Carnival.com. Describe the ship, sailing date and service involved so other travelers can understand your experience.
ZeroStars is independent and is not affiliated with Carnival. A review here does not open a Guest Care case or request compensation from the company.
Quick answer: Use Carnival’s reservation team for an upcoming booking and its Guest Care form for a completed cruise. Before canceling, check the fare you purchased and the cancellation date: a future cruise credit and a refund to your payment method are different outcomes.
Carnival Review and Complaint Topics
Selected accounts on Carnival’s Trustpilot page, checked October 26, 2026, describe different problems. Jenny Sanchez reported a canceled booking after an unpaid balance; Luis Too Much described missing a later payment and discovering the cancellation close to departure. Mia S reported waiting for a promised refund. These are the reviewers’ accounts, not independently verified booking or payment records.
Those examples are useful reasons to check payment deadlines and keep refund confirmations. They do not establish how frequently problems occur across Carnival’s passengers. When writing your own review, separate the booking experience, onboard service and post-cruise response. Include helpful staff, an enjoyable sailing or a successful resolution when that is part of what happened.
Cancellations, Deposits and Refunds
Carnival’s Cruise Ticket Contract sets cancellation charges according to cruise length, itinerary and time before departure. Promotional fares can carry additional restrictions. Its published Early Saver terms describe a nonrefundable deposit and, for qualifying cancellations before final payment is due, a future cruise credit minus a $50-per-person service fee. That credit has restrictions and a deadline for making a new reservation.
Ask Carnival to identify the terms attached to your actual booking before making a change. Request a written breakdown showing the amount retained, any refund and any credit issued. If Carnival changes or cancels the voyage, ask which policy applies to that specific event rather than assuming the passenger-cancellation schedule controls it.
Keep a refund record: Save the original payment, cancellation confirmation, promised amount, payment destination and case number. Ask whether a refund has been approved or actually issued, and request its processing date and reference. Compare that response with your payment statement.
How to Explain a Cruise Problem Clearly
- Identify the sailing, ship and booking channel. Give the booking number privately to Carnival.
- Write a short timeline: what you purchased, what changed, when you reported it and what support said.
- Attach relevant receipts, messages and photographs through the official support route.
- State the remedy you want, such as an explanation of a charge, a correction or a refund review.
- Follow up on the same case and record the final outcome, including any remedy you accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Carnival Frequently Asked Questions
How do I complain to Carnival after a cruise?
Use the official Guest Care form linked above. Include the ship, sail date, booking details and a concise description of the issue. Retain your submission and any case reference.
Will I receive a full refund if I cancel?
That depends on your fare terms and cancellation timing. Check the booking’s cancellation conditions and ask for an itemized calculation before proceeding. Do not assume a cruise credit can be withdrawn as cash.
What should I include in a Carnival review?
Describe the ship and sailing, the specific service involved and how Carnival responded. Explain whether the matter was resolved. Leave booking numbers, payment details and other passengers’ personal information out of the public review.
Share your Carnival experience: Use the review form on this page to describe what went well, what went wrong and the outcome. ZeroStars ratings run from −5 to +5, including 0.
