Overview
Bose S1 battery recall: Stop using an affected battery pack. Follow Bose’s identification and removal instructions before requesting a replacement. The battery and speaker have different serial numbers.
This guide focuses on the S1 Pro and S1 Pro+ battery recall and owners’ experiences obtaining help. It does not assess every Bose product.
Which battery packs are affected?
The November 5, 2026 CPSC notice names Bose Corporation and covers batteries sold with the speakers or separately. It reports seven overheating/fire-related events, including six property-damage reports, and no reported injuries. These are the firm’s reports in the notice, not a ZeroStars customer survey.
Bose identifies affected packs by the first six digits of the battery’s 17-digit serial: 083723, 078352, 084105, 078591, 078592, 084106 or 086409. Use the official photos if the label or product is unclear.
Requesting a replacement
Use the replacement link on Bose’s recall page and provide the battery serial privately. The program offers a free replacement battery; do not assume it provides a refund for the entire speaker. CPSC lists U.S. recall help at 800-278-1083, weekdays 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Eastern and Saturdays 9 a.m.–7 p.m. Eastern.
Bose allows AC-powered speaker use after the recalled pack is removed. Follow its removal instructions. Do not put recalled batteries in household trash, ordinary recycling or retail battery bins; contact your municipality for appropriate disposal.
Following up on your request
Save your request confirmation and separately record shipment, delivery and installation. A case number does not establish that a replacement has arrived. ZeroStars has not authenticated individual replacement deliveries or a typical fulfillment time.
