Overview

Share your Disney+ experience on ZeroStars with a rating from −5 to +5, including 0 for a neutral or mixed experience. Tell other readers which subscription you used, what worked or went wrong, and whether customer support resolved the issue.

ZeroStars is an independent review website and is not affiliated with Disney+. A review here does not contact Disney, cancel a subscription or submit a refund request.

About Disney+

Disney+ is a streaming service featuring entertainment from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and other brands. Available content and features depend on your subscription and location. Some customers subscribe directly, while others receive access through bundles or a billing partner.

This page focuses on the U.S. streaming service. When writing a review, identify whether you used Disney+ on its own or as part of a bundle. A problem with an included service, activation step or billing provider can require a different support route from a problem playing a Disney+ title.

Disney+ Billing and Plan Changes

Start by checking your Account page and the Your Plans & Billing section. Review the plan name, renewal information and billing provider before comparing a statement charge with an advertised offer. Disney’s Account & Billing Help Center links to subscription information, payment guidance and billing-history assistance.

Disney+ provides plan-change instructions for eligible subscribers. Its guidance warns that changing a plan can end an existing promotion or price hold. Higher-tier changes can take effect immediately with a prorated charge, while lower-tier changes generally take effect at the next billing date. Third-party options and timing can differ.

Before confirming a change, save the displayed price, effective date and renewal terms. If a charge looks wrong, compare it with the confirmation and ask the billing provider to identify the subscription behind it. Explain the adjustment you are requesting and retain the response. A pending request should not be described as an approved refund.

Canceling Disney+ and Managing Third-Party Subscriptions

Disney’s account management guidance directs subscribers to the subscription section of their Account page to cancel, with phone or chat assistance available through support. Follow every confirmation screen and save the cancellation result and effective date.

If a partner bills you, use that provider’s subscription controls or contact its support team. For example, Disney’s Roku billing guide explains how to identify a Roku-billed subscription. The device you watch on does not, by itself, establish who collects your payment.

Canceling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions. Disney’s account management guidance treats cancellation as the first step before account deletion. Do not rely on removing an app, deleting a profile or posting a review as proof that billing has stopped. Check the account status and keep your confirmation in case a later transaction needs investigation.

Disney+ Bundles and Activation Problems

A bundle can include several services, but access may require additional activation. Disney’s Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle instructions explain the process for new and existing subscribers. The options available to you depend on your current subscriptions and billing arrangements.

Before purchasing a second plan because an app will not let you watch, check whether the included service has been activated and whether you are signing in with the expected email. Save the original offer and activation confirmation. If the problem concerns Hulu, identify whether it occurs in the Hulu app or while viewing Hulu content in Disney+.

When contacting support, list the services you expected to receive and the service that is missing. Ask how the bundle affects any existing subscriptions, rather than assuming every older subscription has automatically ended.

Why Disney+ Premium May Still Include Ads

Disney+ explains that select live and linear programming includes advertising regardless of the plan. Promotional and sponsored material may also appear. Its advertising guidance distinguishes on-demand Premium viewing from live broadcasts and other content.

Hulu content watched inside Disney+ follows the advertising level of the associated Hulu subscription. A Disney+ no-ads plan therefore does not remove ads from an ad-supported Hulu subscription. ESPN programming can also contain commercials.

For an advertising complaint, record the title or event, approximate playback time, plan name and app used. Explain whether the issue was an unexpected commercial, an ad that would not finish, repeated interruptions or a playback failure.

Household Verification and Extra Members

Disney+ defines a Household around devices associated with the subscriber’s primary personal residence. Its subscription-sharing guidance covers home-device verification, updating a Household and watching while away.

If a device is incorrectly flagged, follow the option that matches your situation. Updating the Household changes its location; the away-from-home option serves a different purpose. Verification may require a code sent to the account email, and Disney says limits can apply to these changes.

Eligible subscriptions can purchase an Extra Member add-on for someone outside the Household. Eligibility varies by plan. Removing or replacing the person does not remove the paid add-on: Disney says the account holder continues to be charged until the add-on itself is removed.

Login and Streaming Problems

Disney+ uses MyDisney login details. Its login troubleshooting guide explains that changing the email address or password can update those credentials across other MyDisney services. Use the official recovery process if your login stops working.

For buffering, a blank screen or an app that will not open, start with the official troubleshooting directory. Record the device model, error code and whether the same title works on another device. This helps distinguish an account-access issue from a device or connection problem.

Frequently asked questions

Disney+ FAQs

Can ZeroStars cancel my Disney+ subscription?

No. Use Disney+ or the company that bills you. ZeroStars publishes independent reviews and does not manage subscriptions.

Why do I see Hulu ads with Disney+ Premium?

Hulu content follows your Hulu subscription’s advertising tier, even when viewed within Disney+.

Does removing an Extra Member stop the add-on charge?

No. Remove the paid add-on itself through the account controls; removing only the person leaves the add-on active.

What should I include in a Disney+ complaint?

Identify your plan, the issue, relevant dates and the support outcome. Keep account identifiers and payment information private.
