Overview
Exxon Mobil reviews on ZeroStars cover U.S. Exxon and Mobil gas stations, convenience-store visits, fuel purchases, Exxon Mobil Rewards+, app payments and customer service. Share positive, neutral or negative experiences on the −5 to +5 scale, including 0 for an ordinary or mixed visit.
Exxon and Mobil are ExxonMobil brands with a shared consumer rewards program and app. This page covers both station brands. The Rewards+ terms identify ExxonMobil Oil Corporation as the program operator and describe participating stations operated by branded wholesalers and retail companies. The fuel brand, local store operator and payment provider may therefore be different businesses.
Station Service, Fuel Prices and Purchase Problems
For a receipt, price discrepancy, store purchase or staff concern, start with the manager at the specific location. Record the station address, date, time, pump number, grade, gallons and amount paid. Check whether an advertised price depended on a payment method, membership or offer before comparing it with your receipt.
The official Exxon contact page and Mobil contact page provide station-experience support. Include the location and explain whether you are asking for an explanation, a receipt, a refund review or follow-up from the operator.
If you suspect contaminated or incorrect fuel, preserve your receipt and obtain a mechanic’s written findings. Describe the symptoms and timing, and ask the station and consumer support how to submit a claim. Do not assume the brand will reimburse repair costs before the cause and responsibility have been reviewed.
Exxon Mobil Rewards+ and Missing Points
The current rewards overview advertises base earnings of 3 points per gallon on other fuels, 6 on premium fuel and 2 per dollar on eligible store purchases. It presents 100 points as $1 in savings. Offers, products and station participation can affect eligibility.
Fully complete enrollment before attempting to redeem. The app FAQs allow up to 48 hours for a transaction’s points to appear. If points remain missing, keep the receipt and contact support with the account identifier, offer details and payment method used.
The rewards FAQs specify that points earned during a calendar year expire on December 31 of the following year. For example, points earned in 2026 expire December 31, 2027. Review your balance and expiration information rather than treating points as cash.
There is a useful location exception: the FAQs say Exxon or Mobil stations with a 7-Eleven store do not issue Rewards+ points on purchases paid for inside that store. Explain where you paid when reporting missing points. For a store-service experience, identify the actual operator; ZeroStars also has a published 7-Eleven review page.
App Payments, Receipts and Bank Holds
Confirm the station, pump and payment method before activating a pump in the app. If an error appears, check whether a transaction completed before making repeated payment attempts. Save the error text and transaction time so support can investigate.
The app’s troubleshooting guidance recommends checking location permission and the installed app version. If app payment remains unavailable, use another accepted payment method and present your rewards identifier for an eligible purchase. App access, mobile payment and rewards participation are related features, but availability can differ by location.
Exxon’s station FAQs explain that the bank determines the amount and duration of a pump preauthorization hold. Ask your bank whether an amount is pending or posted. A temporary hold appearing alongside a purchase does not by itself establish a duplicate final charge.
Smart Card+ and Direct Debit+ Support
Exxon Mobil Smart Card+ is a credit card issued by Citibank. Its current FAQs say eligible card savings can combine with Rewards+ points. They also explain that when the pump discount is unavailable, the earned discount is provided as a statement credit within one to two billing cycles.
Direct Debit+ links a checking account through the app. Its current page likewise allows eligible Rewards+ earnings alongside its fuel discount. Identify whether you used Smart Card+, Direct Debit+, an ordinary bank card or another wallet when requesting help.
Missing loyalty points should go to rewards support. Credit-card billing, interest, account access and statement-credit questions should go to the card issuer. Direct Debit+ has its own support line. For a fleet or business card, use the provider and number printed on that specific account’s card or statement.
Gift Cards, Store Returns and Car Washes
The official gift-card page says ExxonMobil gift cards can be used at Exxon and Mobil stations, do not expire and are not reloadable. If a card fails, check its balance and contact gift-card support. Keep the original card and purchase confirmation; do not assume a lost card or unused balance qualifies for a cash refund.
The rewards terms leave merchandise-return eligibility to the applicable seller’s policy and law. Returning a qualifying purchase can also affect the points earned or redeemed. A points correction and a merchandise refund are separate requests, so explain both if necessary.
For a failed car-wash code, an incomplete wash or alleged damage, contact the wash operator promptly with your receipt, code and relevant photographs. Ask for the policy and claim process that apply to that location. Avoid assuming every wash displaying an Exxon or Mobil sign has the same refund conditions.
If a repair shop works at the station, use the business name on the repair order. Ask that shop about its parts and labor warranty, exclusions and repair-claim procedure. A fuel-brand sign does not establish that ExxonMobil performed or guaranteed the work. Third-party delivery orders should likewise be identified by their actual ordering platform and seller.
Escalating an Unresolved Complaint
Keep a short timeline of the purchase, conversations and responses. After contacting the station manager or relevant support team, request further review if the response leaves a specific issue unanswered. Include the prior case number, supporting evidence, amount involved and requested outcome.
Ask which business will handle the next step and how to follow up. Distinguish the operator’s response from rewards support or the bank’s response in your review. Posting on ZeroStars does not submit a claim to ExxonMobil or initiate a refund.
Writing a Useful Exxon Mobil Review
State whether you visited an Exxon or Mobil station, its city and street, the approximate date and the service used. Explain the result: accurate pricing, helpful staff, clean facilities, a working pump, an app failure, missing savings or effective complaint handling.
Choose a rating from −5 to +5 that reflects your own experience. Positive and negative reviews are welcome, and 0 is valid for a neutral or mixed outcome. Describe what happened without posting account credentials, full card numbers or unredacted receipts. Update the review if the business resolves the problem.
