FedEx Reviews and Complaints About Deliveries, Packages and Claims

FedEx reviews and complaints frequently involve delayed deliveries, packages marked delivered but not received, damaged shipments, tracking problems, missed delivery attempts, claims, billing and difficulty reaching someone who can resolve a problem.

Positive experiences often mention packages arriving on time, useful tracking information, professional drivers and convenient FedEx Office or Hold at Location services. Customer experiences can vary according to the shipment type, delivery contractor, local facility, driver, weather, package preparation and whether the reviewer is the shipper or recipient.

FedEx Review Summary

FedEx provides domestic and international package delivery, express shipping, ground delivery, returns, tracking, printing, logistics and related services. When checked in September 2026, Zero Stars displayed a rating of -5 stars based on one published review. That reviewer described express-delivery delays and a package remaining at an Ohio distribution hub.

One review is not enough to establish a company-wide trend. Additional reviews are needed to show how experiences vary among locations, services and shipment types.

FedEx Company and Contact Information

The corporate telephone number is intended for general corporate routing. It is not normally the fastest contact for tracking, delivery changes, claims, invoices or missing packages. Use 1-800-463-3339 or the support route that matches the shipment problem.

Important FedEx Freight Update

FedEx completed the separation of FedEx Freight on June 1, 2026. FedEx Freight is now an independent, publicly traded company specializing in less-than-truckload freight transportation.

This means an issue involving palletized freight, LTL freight, freight billing, a freight cargo claim or FedEx Custom Critical may require FedEx Freight support rather than regular FedEx package customer service.

Regular FedEx Express, Ground, Home Delivery, international package, FedEx Office and parcel-delivery concerns should continue through FedEx package support.

FedEx Services Reviewed by Customers

FedEx services discussed in customer reviews can include:

  • FedEx Express and overnight delivery
  • FedEx Ground and Home Delivery
  • International package shipping
  • FedEx Office printing, packing and shipping
  • Package tracking and proof of delivery
  • FedEx Delivery Manager
  • Hold at FedEx Location
  • Return shipments and retailer returns
  • Scheduled package pickups
  • Claims for lost or damaged shipments
  • Business shipping accounts and billing
  • Customs, duties and international-shipping charges

The correct complaint or claim process may depend on the service, the shipment contract and whether the person seeking help is the shipper, merchant, recipient or third-party account holder.

What Customers Like About FedEx

Positive FedEx reviews commonly describe individual experiences involving:

  • On-Time Deliveries: Some customers report that express, ground or international packages arrived within the promised delivery period.
  • Helpful Drivers: Positive reviewers sometimes recognize drivers who followed delivery instructions, handled packages carefully or provided friendly service.
  • Detailed Tracking: Customers may appreciate tracking scans, estimated delivery dates and picture proof of delivery.
  • Fast Express Service: Some shippers report successful time-sensitive or overnight deliveries.
  • Convenient Locations: FedEx Office, Walgreens, Dollar General and other participating locations can provide package drop-off, pickup or Hold at Location services.
  • Delivery Manager Tools: Eligible recipients may be able to add instructions, redirect packages or request a secure pickup location.
  • Helpful Customer-Service Representatives: Some customers report receiving useful tracking assistance, case updates or claim guidance.

These comments describe individual shipments and experiences. They do not guarantee the same result for another customer or package.

Common FedEx Complaints

Public FedEx reviews contain individual opinions and allegations. They do not establish that every shipment, driver, facility or customer experiences the same problem.

Delayed Deliveries

Customers sometimes report that a package remained at a hub, missed its scheduled delivery date or changed from a specific date to “pending.” Delays can involve weather, equipment problems, customs, address issues, damaged labels, high shipping volume or operational problems.

For eligible U.S. packages delayed by at least one day, FedEx may display a “Start Support Ticket” option under Manage Delivery on the tracking page.

Delivered but Not Received

Some customers say tracking showed “delivered” even though they could not locate the package. Possible explanations include:

  • The package was left at another entrance
  • It was delivered to a neighbor, mailroom or leasing office
  • The delivery address was incorrect
  • The delivery scan occurred before the package was located
  • The package was delivered to the wrong address
  • The package was stolen after delivery

Check picture proof of delivery when available and use the tracking page’s “Report Missing Package” option to create a case.

Damaged Packages or Missing Contents

Some reviewers report crushed boxes, opened packaging, broken products or items missing from a shipment. Photograph the package, label, interior packaging and damaged contents before disposing of anything.

FedEx may request an inspection or additional documentation. Keep the original packaging until the claim is resolved.

Tracking Problems

Some customers describe tracking that did not update, showed conflicting information or displayed an estimated date that later changed. Save screenshots of important tracking events because the display may change as new scans are added.

Missed Delivery Attempts

Customers sometimes say they were home but received a missed-delivery notice or tracking update. If a door tag was left, use the door-tag number to review the delivery options.

Eligible packages may be redirected through FedEx Delivery Manager or held at a participating FedEx location. FedEx says packages redirected after a missed attempt may be held for pickup, and unclaimed packages can eventually be returned.

Difficulty Reaching Customer Support

Some reviewers describe frustration with automated telephone prompts, chat tools or representatives who could not provide additional information beyond the tracking page. When contacting FedEx, request a case or ticket number and document what was promised.

Claims and Reimbursement Problems

Customers may disagree about who is permitted to file a claim, what documentation is required, the value of the shipment or whether FedEx considers the package delivered. The merchant or shipper may have greater control over the claim when it purchased the shipping label.

Billing, Duties and Unexpected Charges

Some reviews concern dimensional-weight adjustments, pickup charges, account rebilling, duties, taxes, international brokerage-related costs or differences between an estimated price and final invoice.

Keep the shipping label, measurements, weight, invoice, customs documents, payment confirmation and any original rate estimate.

Pickup Problems

Some shippers report missed scheduled pickups or limited information about when a driver will arrive. Save the pickup-confirmation number and document the date, time and location where the package was available.

Public FedEx Review Snapshot

When checked in September 2026, Zero Stars displayed -5 stars based on one published FedEx review. The review concerned repeated delays and tracking showing a shipment remaining at an Ohio hub. Because this is only one review, it should not be treated as a representative sample of all FedEx customers.

The FedEx Trustpilot profile displayed a TrustScore of 1.2 based on 53,661 reviews. Trustpilot also noted that its reviewers are self-selected and may not represent all customers.

The BBB FedEx customer-review page displayed an average customer rating of 1.06 based on 6,119 reviews. The BBB’s A+ business rating is separate from its customer-review score and should not be confused with that customer rating.

Review scores, totals and individual comments can change. Large public profiles combine many services, facilities, shipment types and locations.

What To Do About a Delayed FedEx Package

  1. Review the complete tracking history. Look for the most recent physical scan, delivery exception, address issue or customs update.
  2. Check FedEx service alerts. Weather or network disruptions may affect multiple locations.
  3. Start a support ticket. If an eligible U.S. package is at least one day late, look for “Start Support Ticket” under Manage Delivery.
  4. Contact the shipper or merchant. The seller may be able to send a replacement, request a trace or file a claim.
  5. Call FedEx. Contact 1-800-463-3339 with the tracking number.
  6. Request a case number. Save it along with the date, time and information provided.
  7. Preserve important tracking events. Take screenshots showing scans, promised delivery dates and exceptions.

What To Do if FedEx Says Delivered but No Package Arrived

  1. Review picture proof of delivery if available.
  2. Check the front, side and rear entrances, garage and other protected areas.
  3. Ask household members, neighbors, building staff, the leasing office and mailroom.
  4. Confirm that the merchant used the correct delivery address.
  5. Enter the tracking number on the official FedEx tracking page.
  6. Select “Manage Delivery” and then “Report Missing Package” when available.
  7. Save the assigned case number.
  8. Contact the merchant or shipper about a replacement or claim.
  9. Preserve security-camera footage and delivery photographs when relevant.

A recipient should not publish another person’s address or an unredacted delivery photograph in a public review.

How To File a FedEx Claim

FedEx Claims Online can be used for eligible shipments that are lost, damaged or missing contents. Depending on the shipment, FedEx may request:

  • The tracking or PRO number
  • Shipment date and service type
  • Sender and recipient details
  • Description of the package and contents
  • Original purchase receipt or proof of value
  • Repair invoice or statement that the item cannot be repaired
  • Serial numbers or product-identification information
  • Photographs of the packaging and damaged contents
  • Inspection documents
  • The amount requested

For damaged packages or missing contents, keep the original packaging and contents until the claim has been resolved.

Current FedEx Claim Deadlines

FedEx’s current U.S. claims page states:

  • Damaged or missing contents in a U.S. package: File within 60 calendar days of the shipment date
  • Damaged or missing contents in an international package: File within 21 calendar days of the shipment date
  • Undelivered or lost shipments: File within nine months of the shipment date

Different rules may apply to certain services, freight shipments, tariffs or shipment contracts. File promptly and confirm the deadline for the particular shipment instead of waiting until the end of the stated period.

How To Escalate a FedEx Complaint

  1. Use the correct support route. Tracking, missing packages, claims, billing, FedEx Office and FedEx Freight have different processes.
  2. Call FedEx customer service. Use 1-800-463-3339 for general package support.
  3. Request a case or ticket number. Record the number and the date it was opened.
  4. Define the requested resolution. Ask for a package trace, delivery update, claim review, billing correction, pickup reschedule or written explanation.
  5. Upload supporting documents. Add tracking screenshots, photographs, receipts, invoices and proof of value.
  6. Contact the shipper or merchant. A retailer may need to submit the formal claim or replacement request.
  7. Use specialized billing support. Call 1-800-622-1147 for invoice and account-billing questions.
  8. Use FedEx Freight support when applicable. LTL freight complaints should be directed to the independent FedEx Freight company.
  9. Protect all deadlines. A public review or general complaint does not extend a claim, billing-dispute or card-dispute deadline.

FedEx Scam Text and Phishing Warning

Scammers frequently misuse the FedEx name in fake package-delivery texts. These messages may claim:

  • A delivery address is incomplete
  • A package is being held
  • A small redelivery fee is required
  • A customs or import charge must be paid
  • A package will be returned unless the recipient acts immediately
  • A tracking number must be confirmed through a link

Do Not Trust an Unexpected Delivery Link

Do not click an unexpected text link, pay a delivery fee or enter personal information through the message. Open FedEx.com or the official FedEx app independently and enter the tracking number yourself.

For examples, warning signs and steps to take after clicking a suspicious link, read the FedEx scam-text warning on Think It’s a Scam.

A phishing message that misuses the FedEx name is not proof that FedEx sent it. Verify all shipment information through official FedEx channels.

Comparing FedEx With Other Delivery Companies

FedEx is commonly compared with UPS, USPS, DHL, Amazon Logistics and regional delivery companies. Instead of assuming one carrier is always better, compare:

  • The service purchased and promised delivery period
  • Tracking detail and delivery photographs
  • Signature and delivery-instruction options
  • Package size and weight limits
  • Insurance or declared-value limits
  • Claim deadlines and documentation
  • International-shipping and customs support
  • Hold at Location availability
  • Pickup reliability
  • Customer-service and escalation options

For another major delivery provider, read USPS reviews and complaints. This comparison link is not an endorsement.

  • The FedEx service used
  • The general origin and destination
  • The promised and actual delivery dates
  • The important tracking events
  • Whether the package was late, lost, damaged or delivered incorrectly

How To Rate FedEx on Zero Stars

Zero Stars uses a color-coded scale from -5 stars to +5 stars. Consider delivery performance, tracking, package handling, communication, claim processing, billing and the final resolution.

  • -5 stars: The worst possible delivery, claim, billing or customer-service experience
  • -3 to -4 stars: Serious unresolved delay, loss, damage, billing or communication problems

  • +3 to +4 stars: A good delivery or customer-service experience
  • +5 stars: Exceptional service and complete resolution

Title: What happened to FedEx?
Review: FedEx used to be decent, but the last couple of years they have severely declined. Their service is terrible now. Packages arriving days to a week after the promised date, even when I paid for express delivery. Tracking a package it will sit for days at the Grove City, Ohio hub in limbo. For the cross town trip to Columbus, Ohio hub for distribution to the delivery vehicles. I avoid using FedEx when at all possible now, but sadly some places that you buy from online only uses FedEx. I only use those retailers if I can\'t find it anywhere else that doesn\'t use FedEx.
