Overview
Snow Peak reviews and complaints can concern different products and service experiences. This guide focuses on the Takibi propane-insert recall and how affected purchasers can document their remedy request. It does not imply that all Snow Peak products are recalled or that every customer has had a problem.
Stop-use notice: The October 8, 2026 CPSC recall covers Takibi propane inserts, model ST-332-US, and their supplied lava rocks. Stop using affected accessories and contact Snow Peak. The ordinary Pack & Carry Fireplace itself is not recalled.
Which Snow Peak Product Is Affected?
CPSC recall 27-021 covers about 100 propane inserts and lava-rock sets. The model appears on the packaging and in the manual. Use the official recall photographs and identification details to distinguish the accessory from the fireplace. The illustration in this guide is not a product-identification photograph.
The notice lists full-refund and replacement-rock options. For the refund route, Snow Peak provides a prepaid return label. With the replacement-rock option, the purchaser keeps the insert; do not resume use before the replacement rocks arrive.
What Snow Peak Says About the Recall
The company’s recall page attributes the problem to incorrect rock material, describes testing and says replacement rocks were supplied to affected purchasers who did not return their units. These are company statements, not independently confirmed customer-delivery outcomes.
Its Q&A says no damage occurred, while CPSC records one exploding-rock report involving minor property damage and no injuries. The sources differ on damage; this guide preserves that distinction without inferring why. The company page combines an initial notice with later material, so it does not establish one clear update chronology.
How to Request and Track Your Remedy
Start with the official company notice and its linked Snow Peak return portal. The portal requires JavaScript; its controls and submission process were not independently tested. Use the recall contact below if it will not load or your order cannot be located.
- Identify the item: gather a model or packaging photo, receipt and order details if available. These are useful records, not a new eligibility test imposed by ZeroStars.
- Choose the outcome: ask for the refund or replacement-rock option in writing and request the instructions that apply to that choice.
- Get a reference: retain the request date, case number, support replies and any shipping or delivery confirmation.
- Confirm completion: record when money actually posts or replacement material arrives. Ask for a follow-up date when only an acknowledgement has been received.
Keep the two routes separate: Ask Snow Peak how to handle the original rocks and any return for your selected option. Do not combine return and disposal instructions from different notices. Do not substitute arbitrary rocks, modify the gas equipment or use a home test to decide the affected accessory is safe.
What the Available Customer Accounts Can Tell Us
Two distinct ownership accounts in a historical Reddit recall discussion provide limited context. One poster, emu-72, described unanswered inquiries and uncertainty about the remedy. Another, yellowflashh, reported use without an exploding-rock problem but mentioned whistling.
The comments displayed as about two months old; exact experience dates were unavailable. They are not a fresh complaint cluster, and multiple comments from one account were counted once. Neither account independently confirms CPSC’s reported event or a completed refund. No recent firsthand recall-remedy account within 30 days was verified. The official recall, rather than a complaint-volume claim, is the basis for this guide.

Frequently asked questions
Snow Peak Takibi Recall Frequently Asked Questions
Is the ordinary Pack & Carry Fireplace recalled?
The notice concerns the propane insert and supplied lava rocks, not the ordinary fireplace itself. Identify the separate accessory using the official photographs.
Can I keep the propane insert?
The replacement-rock remedy allows the insert to be retained. Follow Snow Peak’s instructions and wait for the replacement materials before resuming use.
Can I continue using it if it worked before?
No. Snow Peak expressly asks affected owners to stop even if earlier use was uneventful.
Can I use rocks bought somewhere else?
Snow Peak warns against arbitrary replacement rocks. Follow the official remedy rather than modifying or testing the equipment yourself.
When will a recall refund reach my bank account?
The company FAQ does not give a precise posting deadline. Ask for written timing and check actual receipt of funds separately from return authorization.
What if the return portal does not work?
Contact Snow Peak by the published recall phone or email above and ask for instructions for your selected remedy.
