Overview

Share a positive, neutral or negative experience on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 scale. A rating of 0 is valid for a neutral or mixed experience.
About Sub-Zero appliances
Sub-Zero is the refrigeration brand within the family-owned Sub-Zero Group. The group also includes Wolf cooking appliances and Cove dishwashers. Shared ownership and support resources do not make their products or warranty terms interchangeable: this page focuses on Sub-Zero refrigeration.

What to include in a Sub-Zero review
Identify the appliance type and model, approximate purchase and installation dates, and how long you have used it. Useful details include temperature consistency, ice production, wine storage, door seals, operating noise, controls and day-to-day usability. Describe observations separately from a technician’s diagnosis.
For a service experience, explain who handled the work, appointment timing, the diagnosis, any quoted or paid charges, parts delays and whether the repair resolved the problem. Give credit for clear communication and successful repairs as well as documenting unresolved issues. If the delivery company, dealer or independent installer caused a problem, identify that role rather than attributing every part of the transaction to the manufacturer. Do not post private contact details, full serial numbers or payment information.
Registration, manuals and ownership records
Use official product registration, which offers registration with or without an account. Keep your purchase receipt, installation date, model and serial number, and service invoices together.
The Product Specification Library provides model-specific use-and-care material, installation instructions and specifications, including resources for older series. Select the exact model before following cleaning, temperature-setting or installation instructions. Registration is a recordkeeping step; consult the applicable warranty for coverage requirements.
Sub-Zero warranty coverage and exclusions
The official warranty hub separates residential, outdoor, nonresidential and display-product terms. Under the standard residential warranty, coverage starts at original installation: two years for defective materials or workmanship, five years for sealed-system parts and labor, and limited sealed-system parts coverage through year twelve. The longer period is not twelve years of whole-appliance or labor coverage.
Full warranty service must use Factory Certified Service unless Sub-Zero specifies otherwise. Exclusions include negligence, accidents and improper use, maintenance, installation, service or repair. Stainless-steel cosmetic defects have a 60-day limit; replacement water filters and air-purification cartridges are excluded. Check the actual warranty for your product and installation.
For limited parts coverage, ask Sub-Zero about authorization before purchasing parts elsewhere; its terms restrict reimbursement for parts obtained outside approved channels. Ask for a written coverage decision and an itemized estimate identifying any owner-paid labor or other charges.
Factory Certified repairs and replacement parts
Use the official locator to find Factory Certified Service, Parts and Installation providers. Contact the listed service provider or Customer Care to arrange service and confirm coverage for your address. Prepare the model, serial number, symptoms and previous repair history.
Before a visit, ask about diagnostic or trip charges, labor, parts, payment and what happens if the problem is not covered. Confirm authorization before commissioning work you expect the manufacturer to pay for. An independent repair company’s own labor guarantee is separate from a manufacturer warranty.
The replacement-part warranty guidance describes one year of parts-only coverage from the part’s original installation, with labor excluded and a registered appliance serial number required. Exceptions apply. For a defective part purchased from a Factory Certified Parts Distributor, contact the selling distributor. Do not assume that every accessory, consumable or installation charge receives the same protection.
Dealer delivery, installation and returns
Sub-Zero directs appliance shoppers to official retailers. Confirm the seller’s written cancellation, return, exchange, delivery and damage-reporting terms before ordering. A retailer return request and a manufacturer defect claim are different processes; one does not automatically establish eligibility for the other.
Factory Certified Installation is available through the official provider network. Ask the installer to confirm site preparation, cabinet dimensions, electrical and water connections, securing requirements, haul-away and the scope of the quoted work. Keep delivery damage photographs and installation records. Report a delivery or installation problem to the company responsible while involving Sub-Zero when product guidance or warranty assessment is needed.
Escalating an unresolved service issue
Give Customer Care a concise timeline, case number, service invoices, diagnosis and the remedy you are seeking. Ask for a case review or supervisor if earlier contacts have not resolved the issue. Request an explanation of any coverage denial and the next available step in writing. Keep retailer promises and third-party service agreements with the relevant company’s correspondence.
Checking Sub-Zero recalls
Check both the group’s recall information and CPSC Sub-Zero notices against your exact appliance. Historical notices exist; a brand name alone does not establish that a particular unit is affected. Follow the applicable notice’s identification and safety instructions. A Wolf or Cove notice should not be treated as a Sub-Zero refrigerator recall.

Frequently asked questions
Sub-Zero FAQs
Are Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove the same appliance brand?
They belong to the same group, but specialize in different appliances. Use Sub-Zero documentation for refrigeration and the appropriate brand’s documentation for cooking or dishwashing products.
How do I arrange a Sub-Zero repair?
Find a Factory Certified provider through the official locator or call Customer Care. Confirm appointment availability, warranty authorization and any charges directly with the provider.
Does the longest warranty period cover every repair?
No. Coverage varies by component, time period and applicable warranty. Ask which parts, labor and other charges are covered for your specific claim.
Where can I find an older refrigerator manual?
Search the official Product Specification Library using the complete model. If you cannot identify the correct generation, ask Customer Care to help using your model and serial number.
Can Sub-Zero approve a return to my dealer?
A dealer’s return or exchange terms govern that transaction. Contact the seller about returns and Sub-Zero about manufacturer warranty assessment; do not assume a repair claim creates a retailer return right.
Can I leave a neutral or positive review?
Yes. ZeroStars accepts experiences across −5 to +5, including 0 for a neutral or mixed result. Explain what worked, what did not and the eventual outcome so readers can understand your rating.
