Overview
Wendy’s reviews and complaints commonly involve incorrect or missing orders, food quality, drive-thru waits, app problems, delivery, refunds, Wendy’s Rewards, coupons, gift cards and customer service. Because many Wendy’s restaurants are franchise-operated, the right complaint route can depend on the location and how the order was placed.

Wendy’s Reviews and Complaints
Customer experiences vary widely by restaurant. Some Wendy’s reviews describe fresh food, fast drive-thru service and helpful employees, while complaints often mention incorrect orders, missing items, cold food, long waits, refund frustration and difficulty getting a response from a specific location.
Because Wendy’s operates through both company-owned and franchised restaurants, a complaint tied to one location should not automatically be treated as evidence about every Wendy’s restaurant. The store address, order number and ordering method are important details when evaluating a complaint.
Common Wendy’s Complaints
Incorrect or Missing Orders
Customers sometimes report receiving the wrong sandwich, missing fries or nuggets, omitted sauces or a customized order that was not prepared as requested. Check the order before leaving the restaurant when practical, especially for larger drive-thru and pickup orders.
Cold Food and Food Quality
Complaints can involve cold fries, burgers that appear overcooked or undercooked, stale buns, inconsistent portions or food that does not match expectations. If you believe there is a serious food-safety issue, stop eating the item, keep the receipt and packaging when practical, take photos and report it promptly to the restaurant and Wendy’s Customer Care.
Drive-Thru Wait Times
Long waits are another recurring theme in public reviews. Staffing levels, order volume, late-night operations and local management can all affect service time. If the issue happens repeatedly at one restaurant, include the dates and approximate times in a complaint.
Refund Problems
Refund complaints often involve a paid order that was not provided, an incorrect order, a delivery problem or a duplicate-looking charge. Start with the restaurant or support channel that handled the order and keep the receipt, app confirmation and payment record.
Wendy’s App and Online Order Complaints
The Wendy’s app and Wendys.com support pickup, offers and account-based ordering. Digital-order complaints can involve login problems, payment failures, a wrong pickup location, duplicate orders, missing receipts or an order that does not appear correctly at the restaurant.
Before submitting an order, verify the restaurant location, pickup method, customizations, offer or reward, payment amount and account email. If the order fails, save screenshots before retrying so you can determine whether a charge was actually completed.
Wendy’s Delivery Complaints
Wendy’s delivery support depends on where the order was placed. Wendy’s states that delivery orders placed through its app or website may be fulfilled through DoorDash. For problems with those orders, Wendy’s currently directs customers to DoorDash support at 1-855-552-5444. Orders placed directly through DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates, Uber Eats or another delivery platform should generally be reported through that platform first.
Wendy’s also notes that delivery prices may be higher than in-restaurant prices and that delivery fees may apply. Gift cards cannot currently be used to pay for delivery orders.
Wendy’s Refund Complaints
For a restaurant or pickup problem, begin with the location listed on the receipt. For an app, online-order or unresolved restaurant complaint, Wendy’s Customer Care can be reached at 1-888-624-8140, through the app’s live chat/message tools or by email at customercare@wendys.com.
For third-party delivery orders, the delivery provider may control refunds for missing orders, driver problems or delivery adjustments. Ask for written confirmation when a refund is approved and keep the case or ticket number.
Wendy’s Rewards Complaints
Wendy’s Rewards members can earn and redeem points on qualifying purchases. Wendy’s currently states that points expire 365 days after they are earned. Rewards claimed with points generally expire 30 days after they are claimed, unless the reward says otherwise.
Wendy’s also currently states that delivery orders no longer earn Rewards points or qualify for in-app offers, even when the delivery order is placed through the Wendy’s app or website. Pickup orders remain eligible under the current program rules.
For missing points, Wendy’s provides a receipt-submission form. The company says the claim and receipt must be submitted within 24 hours of purchase and limits receipt claims to one per 24-hour period and four per calendar month.
Wendy’s Coupons and App Offers
Offers can vary by restaurant and may have expiration dates, product restrictions or account requirements. If a coupon or app offer does not apply, confirm that you are signed into the correct account, that the offer is still active and that the selected restaurant participates.
Take a screenshot of the offer and checkout total before submitting the order when a promotion materially affects the price.
Wendy’s BBB Rating and Complaints
As of September 17, 2026, the Better Business Bureau profile for The Wendy’s Company Headquarters & Corporately Owned Locations displayed an F rating and stated that the business was not BBB accredited. BBB listed failure to respond to 210 complaints and failure to resolve the underlying causes of a pattern of complaints as reasons for the rating.
The same BBB profile displayed 215 complaints during the previous three years. This profile covers Wendy’s headquarters and corporate-owned locations and should not be assumed to represent every independently operated franchise restaurant.
Wendy’s Trustpilot Reviews
As of September 17, 2026, the Wendy’s Trustpilot profile displayed a 2.5 out of 5 TrustScore from 1,156 reviews. The displayed distribution included 53% one-star reviews and 25% five-star reviews. Trustpilot also stated that Wendy’s had not been inviting reviews, so the sample may not represent every Wendy’s customer or restaurant.
Review themes include incorrect orders, drive-thru waits, cold food, food quality and staff interactions. These are individual customer reports rather than a representative nationwide survey.
How to File a Wendy’s Complaint
- Start with the restaurant. For a current food, drive-thru or pickup issue, ask for the manager at the location tied to the receipt.
- Keep documentation. Save the receipt, order number, app confirmation, screenshots and photos when relevant.
- Use Wendy’s Customer Care. Call 1-888-624-8140, email customercare@wendys.com or use live chat/message support in the Wendy’s app.
- Identify the ordering channel. For third-party delivery, also contact the delivery platform that processed the order.
- Request escalation when needed. If the issue remains unresolved, ask for review by a district manager, franchise operator or corporate support team.

Wendy’s Franchise vs. Corporate Complaints
Many Wendy’s locations are independently operated by franchisees. Local restaurant management or the franchise operator may control staffing, scheduling, food preparation, refunds and daily customer service, while Wendy’s corporate systems manage brand standards, digital ordering, Rewards and broader support.
When filing a complaint, identify whether the problem is tied to a specific restaurant, the Wendy’s app, Rewards, delivery or a gift card. That distinction can determine which support team can resolve it.
