Alaska Airlines is a U.S. airline headquartered in the Seattle area. The airline operates passenger service across the United States and international destinations and is part of Alaska Air Group. Alaska’s current loyalty program is Atmos Rewards, which replaced the former Mileage Plan branding as Alaska and Hawaiian integrated their loyalty programs.

For reservations and pre-flight questions in the United States and Canada, Alaska lists 1-800-252-7522 (1-800-ALASKAAIR), available 24 hours a day. Alaska also supports trip changes and cancellations through the website and app when the reservation qualifies for online servicing.

When Alaska cancels a flight, the airline may rebook the passenger to the next available flight. Depending on the circumstances, travelers may also be able to change travel, cancel for a refund to the original form of payment, or choose future travel credit. Eligibility depends on the ticket and disruption, so keep the confirmation code, e-ticket number and all cancellation notices.

Alaska says most eligible reservations can be canceled or refunded online, or converted to a credit certificate or My Wallet credit depending on fare rules. Tickets purchased at least 24 hours before scheduled departure can generally be canceled for a refund to the original form of payment within 24 hours of purchase.

Refund rules vary by fare. Saver fares have tighter restrictions; Alaska currently states that Saver fares can receive a 50% credit if canceled at least 14 days before the first flight, while other changes or refunds are generally unavailable outside the 24-hour cancellation policy and eligible same-day options.

If a ticket was purchased through a third-party travel agency or another airline, start with that seller because the ticketing carrier or agency may control the refund.

For delayed, damaged or missing baggage, Alaska provides a dedicated Central Baggage Service and baggage-claims process. The current baggage claims number is 1-877-815-8253. Alaska’s baggage form asks for the flight details, baggage incident number, bag tag number, contact information and supporting documentation when available.

Keep the baggage tag, airport report, claim number, photos of damage, replacement-purchase receipts and any written communication until the claim is resolved.

Alaska now uses Atmos Rewards for its loyalty program. For account questions, the airline lists 1-833-902-8667. Current published earning rules vary by fare class, partner and booking method, and Alaska has made program changes during 2026, including changes to Saver fare earning.

Because earning and status rules can change, travelers should rely on the current Atmos Rewards terms shown in their account rather than older Mileage Plan articles or screenshots. If points are missing, save the ticket number, boarding pass, fare details and partner-airline information.

Alaska separates pre-flight reservations support from post-flight complaints. Reservations and pre-flight questions go to 1-800-252-7522. For complaints after travel, Alaska lists Guest Care at 1-800-654-5669, with posted hours of 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Pacific Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Pacific Saturday.

As checked on September 17, 2026, the Better Business Bureau profile for Alaska Airlines headquarters displayed an A- rating and stated that the company was not BBB accredited. The profile listed 657 complaints in the previous three years and 240 complaints closed in the previous 12 months.

The BBB profile says it includes Alaska Airlines headquarters and corporate-owned locations. Complaint totals are not a complaint rate and should be viewed in context because Alaska handles a large volume of passengers and transactions.
