Overview

Frontier Communications reviews and complaints can help other customers understand a Fiber Internet, home Internet, phone, billing or service experience. Share what happened, which service you used and whether the company resolved the issue. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.

Frontier is now a Verizon company. Verizon completed its acquisition of Frontier Communications on January 20, 2026. Frontier remains the customer-facing brand during the integration, and current Frontier customers continue to use Frontier support, billing, equipment and account tools unless they are told otherwise.

What to Include in Your Frontier Communications Review

A useful Frontier review gives enough detail for another customer to understand your experience:

  • Service and location: Fiber Internet, another Internet service, home phone or another Frontier service, plus your city or state.
  • What happened: the approximate date, outage, speed problem, installation appointment, billing issue, equipment problem or service change.
  • Support route: phone, chat, MyFrontier app, Help Center or technician visit.
  • Outcome: what Frontier promised and whether the repair, credit, refund, equipment return or account correction was completed.

Choose the rating that reflects your experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not post account numbers, passwords, security codes, payment details, your full service address or unredacted bills in a public review.

Frontier and Verizon Integration

Frontier became a wholly owned Verizon subsidiary on January 20, 2026. Verizon and Frontier say integration efforts are continuing through 2026. Frontier customers have been told that day-to-day support, products, account access and current pricing or terms remain in place unless the companies communicate a change.

If you are reviewing a recent experience, note whether the issue occurred before or after the Verizon acquisition. Because systems and branding may evolve during integration, use Frontier’s current website and account notices rather than assuming an older support process is still valid.

Internet Service and Speed Problems

Frontier’s current residential focus is fiber Internet in many markets, but service technology and available speeds depend on the address. Actual performance can vary based on the plan, network conditions, Wi-Fi environment, router placement, device capability and whether a test is wired or wireless.

If your review concerns speed, include the subscribed plan, whether you tested over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the approximate time of day and whether the issue affected one device or several. This provides more useful context than a single unexplained speed test.

Outages and Service Interruptions

Frontier provides outage checking through its Help Center and MyFrontier app. The app can also provide outage notifications and access to troubleshooting or support tickets.

For an outage review, record when service stopped, when it returned, whether Frontier showed a known outage and what support told you. If you request a service credit, document the request and the final adjustment. Credit eligibility can vary by service, state, outage type and local rules.

Billing and Unexpected Charges

If a Frontier bill changes unexpectedly, compare it with the prior statement, order confirmation, promotion terms and any equipment or service changes. Ask support to identify the exact line item and whether it is a recurring charge, one-time fee, expired promotion, paper-bill fee, equipment charge, tax, surcharge or other adjustment.

Frontier bills many services in advance. Current billing guidance says customers can receive multiple final bills after disconnection because later equipment, fee, credit or refund adjustments may post separately.

Price Increases and Promotional Rates

Frontier pricing can vary by address, plan, speed, promotion, equipment, payment method and market. A promotional rate may expire or depend on Auto Pay or another requirement. Review your own order confirmation and bill rather than assuming another customer’s rate applies to your account.

If you are reporting a price increase, include the previous amount, new amount, effective date and the explanation Frontier provided. If a special promotional commitment applies, also note the stated expiration date.

Installation and Technician Visits

Frontier installation requirements depend on the service address and whether fiber infrastructure is already available. Some orders may require a technician visit, new fiber or inside wiring, while others may involve equipment setup or activation only.

For installation reviews, record the scheduled window, whether the technician arrived, what work was completed, any charges discussed in advance and whether service worked before the visit ended. The MyFrontier app can be used to monitor support tickets and technician visits.

Equipment, Routers and Returns

Frontier may provide routers, eero devices, extenders, backup equipment or other hardware depending on the plan and market. Not every Frontier device must be returned, so customers should follow the equipment list in their return instructions rather than mailing all older equipment automatically.

Frontier’s current return process uses either a QR code for The UPS Store or a prepaid return mailer. Equipment that Frontier requires back must generally be returned within 30 days. Customers should keep the UPS receipt or tracking record until the account no longer shows the equipment. Frontier says unreturned equipment fees can be significant, depending on the device.

Cancellation and Account Closure

Frontier’s current account guidance says customers should call 1-800-921-8101 to cancel service. Before ending service, confirm the effective disconnect date, final billing treatment, any applicable early termination or restocking fee, which equipment must be returned and whether any other products or add-ons will remain active.

Frontier says residential Internet and video services are generally billed through the end of the billing cycle and may not receive partial-month credits, while some other services can be prorated. The exact treatment depends on the service and account.

Refunds and Credits

Frontier’s current post-disconnection guidance says a remaining credit balance can be refunded after final billing, outstanding fees and required equipment returns are resolved. Refund processing may take multiple billing cycles, followed by mailing time.

A service credit, billing adjustment and refund are different outcomes. If Frontier agrees to one, ask for the amount, where it will appear and the expected timing, then verify that the adjustment actually posts.

Contracts, Early Termination and Commitments

Many Frontier Internet plans are offered without a long-term service contract, but certain promotions, older plans or bundled arrangements can still include specific commitments or early termination terms. Frontier’s billing guidance says any applicable early termination fee should be tied to the customer’s promotional or contract terms.

Before canceling, check the Monthly Charges section of your bill and your original order confirmation for any commitment, promotion end date or fee that could affect the final balance.

Phone and TV Service

Frontier continues to support home phone service in many areas and provides support resources for legacy TV or video services where applicable. Product availability is not the same in every market, and many newer Frontier offers emphasize Internet plus partner streaming or mobile options rather than traditional Frontier TV packages.

If your complaint involves phone or video service, identify the product, equipment and market involved so readers do not assume the issue applies to all Frontier customers.

Security and Identity Protection

Frontier Secure offers identity and security products with separate support. Customers using identity monitoring should use Frontier’s official Secure support pages for alerts, enrollment or identity-theft assistance rather than responding to an unsolicited message that asks for account credentials or payment.

If you receive a suspicious email, text or call claiming to be Frontier, do not post sensitive information in your review. Verify the request through Frontier’s official website, MyFrontier app or a known support number.

Coverage and Availability

Frontier says it operates residential services across multiple states, with fiber availability determined by address. Fiber speeds, installation options and available add-ons can differ by market.

For a coverage or availability review, identify the city or general area without posting your exact street address. This helps readers understand the context while protecting personal information.

App and Online Account Access

The MyFrontier app and online account can be used to make payments, manage Auto Pay, view bills, check support tickets, manage services, troubleshoot a network, receive outage information and update account settings.

If your review concerns login or app access, note whether the problem affected the app, website or both and whether password reset or support resolved it. Never include usernames, passwords or one-time security codes in a public review.
