About WOW! Internet
Editorial information by Eric Strand, founder and publisher of ZeroStars. This guidance is separate from user-submitted customer reviews. Dated figures in this guidance are historical snapshots; the header shows the current published rating. Expand a topic to read more.
Overview
WOW! Internet reviews and complaints can help other customers understand an Internet, Mobile, home phone, TV/streaming, billing, installation or service experience. Share what happened, which service you used and whether the company resolved the issue. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.
WOW! Internet is the consumer brand of WideOpenWest, Inc. Current residential offerings emphasize Internet and fiber Internet, with WOW! Mobile, home phone and YouTube TV bundles available in eligible areas. Availability, network type, speeds, equipment and pricing vary by address and market.
What to Include in Your WOW! Internet Review
A useful WOW! Internet review explains your own experience in enough detail for another customer to understand it:
- Service and location: Internet, fiber Internet, Mobile, home phone, TV or another service, plus your city or state.
- What happened: the approximate date, outage, speed problem, bill change, installation appointment, equipment issue, mobile problem or cancellation.
- Support route: phone, chat, online account, app, drop box or technician visit.
- Outcome: what WOW! promised and whether the repair, credit, refund, return or account correction was completed.
Choose the rating that reflects your experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not post account numbers, passwords, payment details, security codes, your full service address or unredacted bills in a public review.
WOW! Internet Company and Ownership
WOW! is operated by WideOpenWest, Inc. In January 2026, WOW! announced that its take-private acquisition by DigitalBridge Group and Crestview Partners had been completed. The consumer-facing WOW! Internet brand continues after that transaction.
If your review concerns a recent company-policy or account change, describe the date and the exact notice you received rather than assuming a corporate ownership change automatically altered your specific service terms.
Internet Service and Speed Problems
WOW! offers cable-based and fiber-based Internet depending on the market and address. Current fiber expansion materials advertise symmetrical speeds up to 5 Gig in selected new fiber areas, while other markets use different network technology and speed tiers.
If your review concerns speed, include the subscribed plan, whether the test used Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection, the approximate time of day and whether the issue affected one device or several. Wireless speed can vary because of router placement, interference, home construction and device capability.
Outages and Service Interruptions
WOW! maintains an online maintenance and outage map and provides 24/7 technical support at 1-866-496-9669.
WOW!’s published service terms state that a known, verifiable service interruption lasting more than 24 hours can qualify for a prorated credit when the customer reports it within 30 days, subject to the terms and applicable law. The credit depends on the affected services and outage duration. If you request a credit, document the request and verify that it appears on a later bill.
Billing and Unexpected Charges
WOW! customers can use the online account to view and pay bills, enroll in AutoPay and Paperless Billing, and manage account details. Payments can also be made by phone, mail or at approved payment locations.
If a charge is unclear, compare the current statement with the prior bill, the offer you accepted and any recent plan or equipment changes. Ask support to identify whether the item is a recurring charge, one-time installation or activation fee, paper-statement charge, tax or other adjustment. Pricing and fees can vary by market and plan.
Price Changes and Price Lock Options
WOW!’s current Internet marketing includes a Price Lock for Life option on certain plans for an additional monthly amount. The company says the monthly Internet rate remains unchanged while the customer stays on the same qualifying speed under the applicable terms.
This does not mean every WOW! customer has a lifetime price lock. If your review concerns a rate change, identify whether your account included a Price Lock option, the previous amount, the new amount and the explanation shown on the bill or provided by support.
Installation and Technician Visits
WOW! offers self-installation and professional installation depending on the address and service. For some new-customer self-installations, a technician first completes outside work, then leaves the self-install kit with the equipment and setup instructions.
For an installation review, note the scheduled window, whether outside work or an inside visit was required, what equipment was supplied, any charges discussed in advance and whether the service worked after setup. If self-installation fails, WOW! can arrange a technician visit, and charges may apply depending on the circumstances.
Equipment, Modems, Routers and Returns
WOW! may provide modems, routers, eero devices, receivers, DVRs, remotes or other hardware depending on the service and market. Customers are responsible for company-owned equipment while it is assigned to the account.
WOW!’s current return process is account-specific. After a service change, cancellation or move, the company sends instructions stating which equipment must be returned, recycled, taken to the new residence or left in place. Returns can use a prepaid QR-code label at a FedEx Ship Center or Walgreens, or an approved WOW! secure drop box where available. The return email provides the due date. Keep the receipt and tracking details until the equipment is removed from the account.
Cancellation and Account Closure
Current WOW! Internet marketing states that residential Internet plans have no annual contracts and can be canceled without an early termination fee. To disconnect or change service, contact WOW! support at 1-866-496-9669 or use the available support channels.
Legacy accounts, older promotional arrangements or other products can have different terms, so confirm the cancellation date, final billing treatment, equipment return requirements and any effect on Mobile, phone, TV or bundle discounts before closing the account.
Refunds and Credits
WOW! advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee with certain current Internet and fiber offers, subject to the applicable offer terms. This should not be assumed to apply to every existing or legacy account.
For billing adjustments or outage credits, ask support for the amount, where it will appear and the expected timing. A service credit and a refund to a payment method are different outcomes, so verify what WOW! has actually agreed to provide.
TV and Streaming Service
WOW! continues to support some legacy cable television services in existing markets while also promoting YouTube TV bundles for eligible Internet customers. Channel lineups and legacy TV availability vary by location.
WOW! customer notices state that FanDuel Sports Network ceased operations on June 30, 2026 and is no longer included in the WOW! TV lineup. If your complaint concerns TV or streaming, identify the service, package and market involved because a legacy cable lineup and a YouTube TV bundle are not the same product.
WOW! Mobile Service
WOW! Mobile is a separate wireless offering for eligible WOW! Internet customers. Current plans include several data tiers and unlimited talk and text, and WOW! markets the service as using a nationwide 5G network.
WOW! directs Mobile billing and service support through its dedicated Reach Mobile support portal. If your review concerns Mobile, note whether the issue involved activation, SIM service, coverage, number transfer, billing, data usage or cancellation.
Home Phone Service
WOW! Home Phone remains available in eligible areas and includes features such as long-distance calling and robocall-blocking options. Availability and exact features vary by market.
Phone service can depend on power and network equipment. If your review concerns home phone, identify whether the problem involved dial tone, call quality, voicemail, number transfer, emergency calling or another feature.
Coverage and Availability
WOW! currently lists service communities in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina and Tennessee, while continuing fiber expansion in selected markets. Service areas and available network technology can change over time.
The only reliable way to confirm a plan is available is to check the specific address. For a public review, identify your city or general area rather than posting your full street address.
Online Account and Support Access
The WOW! online account lets customers pay bills, manage AutoPay and Paperless Billing, update account details and access equipment-return information. WOW! also offers chat support for billing, connection issues and technical support during listed chat hours.
If your review concerns account access, note whether the problem affected the website, billing portal or Mobile support portal and whether password reset or support resolved it. Do not publish login credentials or verification codes.
