Overview

Kroger operates grocery stores and digital shopping services across the United States. Shoppers may buy in a store, order groceries for pickup or delivery, or purchase eligible products through Kroger Ship. The seller and fulfillment route matter when you need a refund. This page helps you document a Kroger experience and find the official support route. Reviews on ZeroStars can be positive, neutral or negative, using a −5 to +5 scale; 0 is a valid rating.

What to Include in Your Review

Describe the store or Kroger family banner, city and state, date, product or order, and whether it was an in-store, pickup, delivery or Ship purchase. State whether Kroger or a third-party partner fulfilled or sold the order. Explain any missing item, substitution, pricing difference, product condition, staff interaction or account problem, and what support did in response. Do not publish account numbers, full receipt numbers, addresses or other private details.

Customer Service and Store Support

Kroger lists its customer-care number as 1-800-576-4377 (1-800-KRO-GERS). Its contact page also offers online help. For a purchase made in a store, the store is often the direct place to resolve an item or receipt problem. Keep the receipt, order confirmation and any support case details. If a delivery was fulfilled by Instacart, Kroger directs customers to 1-888-246-7822 or help@instacart.com for that service; Kroger-fulfilled delivery uses Kroger customer care.

Store Returns and Exchanges

Kroger’s published return policy generally accepts returns within 30 days of purchase at a Kroger family store. With a paper or digital receipt, the refund goes to the original payment method. Without a receipt, returns over $10 receive a merchandise gift card and require a signature; returns under $10 receive cash under the published policy. Keep the card or digital account used for the purchase. WIC items have special limits: they cannot be refunded but may be exchanged for the same item; baby formula requires a receipt, and WIC formula can be exchanged for the same item. Alcohol and tobacco returns depend on local law. A product warranty is separate from the store return period.

Pickup, Delivery and Missing Items

Review the final receipt against what you ordered, especially substitutions and variable-weight products. Kroger says a pickup substitution can be declined at handoff and a Kroger Delivery substitution can be declined at delivery or addressed through a refund request. For eligible pickup and delivery item issues, sign in, open Purchase History, select the order and item, and choose Request a Refund. Kroger says the app’s refund request currently covers pickup and delivery; in-store monetary refunds require a store visit. Online support may instead provide a credit to a Shopper’s Card. Kroger’s Fresh for Everyone guidance says a confirmed eligible refund may take five to seven business days to appear. Missing paid-for items can be reported to the store or through order support. Kroger’s pickup and delivery terms also distinguish Kroger fulfillment from certain third-party services; fees, available times and prices vary by order and location. EBT-paid online order refunds have a separate support route.

Shipped Orders and Third-Party Sellers

Kroger Ship is different from local grocery delivery. Kroger’s Ship help page says items shipped by Kroger generally have a 60-day return window, while items sold or shipped by a Kroger Third Party Partner have a 30-day window. Ship purchases cannot be returned or exchanged at a store; start from My Purchases online. Check the “Sold & Shipped By” label on the product or order to identify the responsible seller. Shipping charges generally are not refunded. The Ship guidance says a card refund may take up to five business days after it is finalized. Save the tracking, packaging and photographs of damage when contacting support.

Order Changes, Pickup and Delivery Fees

Kroger’s delivery help says an order can generally be canceled before the shopper starts picking it; fulfillment status governs whether cancellation remains available. Delivery time or address changes may not be possible after submission. Final totals can change for substitutions, variable weights, applicable coupons and fees. Check the order details for the actual fulfillment provider and contact the correct support route promptly if an order is late, missing or damaged.

Rewards, Coupons and Boost

Kroger’s Shopper’s Card and app support digital coupons and its Rewards Points program, previously called Fuel Points. Eligible purchases typically earn points, which may be redeemed under the program rules toward fuel or groceries; exclusions and expiration apply. Load a digital coupon to the account before checkout and check the product, quantity, expiration date and participating store. Kroger’s optional Boost membership offers eligible delivery benefits and extra points subject to plan, minimum order, location and exclusions. It renews automatically unless canceled. Review the current plan terms and renewal date before paying. Delivery and pickup promotions may have different rules from in-store offers.

Gift Cards, Payments and Account Security

Keep gift-card receipts and transaction records until a balance or redemption issue is resolved. Kroger’s Fresh for Everyone refund program excludes gift cards, among other items. If someone requests payment in Kroger gift cards, asks for a verification code or sends an unexpected order link, verify directly through Kroger’s official site or app. Report an unauthorized account or card charge to Kroger and the payment provider promptly. Payment method and purchase channel can affect the form and timing of a refund.

Frequently asked questions

Kroger FAQs

How long do I have to return a Kroger store purchase?

Kroger’s general store return policy says within 30 days. Bring the paper or digital receipt where available. WIC, formula, alcohol and tobacco have additional rules, and applicable law may matter.

Can I return a Kroger Ship purchase at a store?

No. Kroger directs Ship returns through My Purchases online. Check whether Kroger or a third-party partner sold or shipped the item because published return windows differ.

What if my pickup or delivery order is missing an item?

Check the final receipt, then use Purchase History to request a refund for an eligible item or contact the store and order support. If Instacart fulfilled the delivery, use the partner support route Kroger identifies.

Will a no-receipt return go back to my payment card?

Kroger’s store policy says an original-method refund requires a paper or digital receipt. Without one, returns over $10 receive a merchandise gift card with a signature; under $10, cash. Item-specific rules can override general guidance.

How long does a Kroger refund take?

For an eligible Fresh for Everyone online claim, Kroger says a confirmed refund may appear in five to seven business days. Its Ship help says a card refund may take up to five business days after finalization. Processing depends on the order route and payment method.

How do I cancel Boost?

Check My Boost Membership in your account or call the Boost number listed in the current terms. Cancellation and renewal refund eligibility depend on timing and whether a delivery benefit has been used.
