About GLS US

This page covers GLS parcel deliveries in the United States. Use the U.S. support resources linked here when your shipment is handled by GLS US; check your shipping confirmation before contacting a GLS operation in another country.

Tracking and Delivery Updates

Enter your shipment number on the official GLS US tracking page. Its tracking tools provide shipment updates, estimated delivery windows and proof-of-delivery information. Save the latest status when reporting a problem so you can explain what you saw and when.

A label-created notification does not establish that the package has moved; GLS says movement becomes visible after the next scan. If that is the only update, ask the merchant to confirm handoff. For a delivery exception, missed attempt or unexplained delay, contact recipient support with the tracking number.

Missed Deliveries, Address Changes and Signatures

To reschedule after a missed delivery or door tag, use the link in your tracking notification or contact GLS. Rerouting an in-transit shipment to another address requires the shipper’s authorization; recipients should ask the sender to arrange it.

Signature requirements depend on the service selected. An adult-signature shipment requires someone at least 21 to sign. Review your shipment details before assuming a package can be left unattended.

When discussing an access problem, explain the actual obstacle—such as a locked entrance or missing unit number—and ask what can be changed for that shipment. Keep any new delivery confirmation rather than relying on an informal estimate.

Missing or Damaged Packages

If tracking shows delivered but you cannot locate the package, check the delivery information and ask household members or building staff who may have accepted it. Request a trace through GLS support, and notify the seller that you have not received the order.

For damage, preserve the item and packaging while arranging the next steps. GLS’s claims guidance calls for photographs of the damaged contents, internal packing and outer packaging, along with supporting purchase or replacement-cost documents. Send clear copies to the shipper and retain your own records.

Describe observable facts: which item is missing, where the carton is damaged or how the delivery location differs from your address. Separate the condition of the shipment from assumptions about who caused the problem.

Claims, Refunds and Shipping Credits

The GLS US claims process is for the shipper who sent the package. GLS lists a 90-day filing window from shipment. Shippers file through GLS Connect and provide shipment details and supporting evidence; contact the claims team promptly to confirm applicable requirements.

If you are the recipient of a retail order, give the seller your evidence and request its refund or replacement process. A carrier claim is separate from the retailer’s decision about your purchase. If you purchased the shipping service yourself, use the shipper support route for the carrier claim or a shipping-charge question.

Shipping credits depend on the service and applicable terms. Do not assume that every late delivery qualifies for a refund. Ask the billed shipper to check eligibility and deadlines, and keep the response with your shipment records.

Frequently asked questions

GLS US FAQs

Can I file a claim as the recipient?

GLS requires the shipper to file the claim. Provide the sender with your delivery evidence and ask it to follow up.

Can GLS US deliver to a P.O. box?

No. GLS US states that it does not deliver to P.O. boxes.

Who should I call about a delivery problem?

Call 1-800-322-5555 and select option 2 for recipient support. Have your tracking number ready.

Does a claim automatically refund my retail order?

Do not treat a carrier claim confirmation as a retail refund confirmation. Ask the seller to explain the outcome for your order, including whether it will replace the item or refund your payment.
