About Ford
Editorial information by Eric Strand, founder and publisher of ZeroStars. This guidance is separate from user-submitted customer reviews. Dated figures in this guidance are historical snapshots; the header shows the current published rating. Expand a topic to read more.
Overview
Ford reviews and complaints can help other drivers understand a vehicle, dealership, warranty, repair, financing or connected-service experience. Share what happened, which Ford vehicle or service you used and whether the issue was resolved. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.
Ford Motor Company sells cars, trucks, SUVs and commercial vehicles and supports owners through Ford dealers, Ford Customer Relationship Center, Ford Credit, roadside assistance and digital services such as the Ford app. The editorial information below summarizes selected official support and ownership policies; it is separate from customer reviews and does not represent a survey of Ford owners.
What to Include in Your Ford Review
A useful review gives enough detail for another consumer to understand the experience without exposing personal information:
- Vehicle: model, model year and approximate mileage, if relevant.
- Purchase or service location: dealer name and city or state.
- What happened: the problem, repair, sales issue, warranty question, financing concern or connected-service issue.
- Timeline: approximate dates, number of visits and how long the vehicle was unavailable.
- Resolution: what the dealer or Ford offered, whether the repair worked and any remaining issue.
Choose the rating that reflects your own experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not post your VIN, account number, loan number, license plate, home address, phone number or unredacted service documents.
Warranty and Repair Concerns
Ford says its standard new-vehicle coverage includes a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, subject to the applicable warranty booklet, exclusions and whichever limit comes first. Coverage can differ for electric-vehicle components, hybrid components, corrosion, emissions equipment and certain accessories.
If you believe a repair should be covered, ask the dealer to identify the warranty provision being applied and request a written repair order showing the complaint, diagnosis, parts replaced and final disposition. Keep copies of repair orders even when the repair is performed at no charge. You can also review warranty information through Ford Owner Support.
Recalls and Safety Campaigns
Ford provides a VIN-based recall lookup through Owner Support. If your vehicle has an open recall, contact an authorized Ford dealer to confirm parts availability and schedule the repair. Recall work and ordinary warranty or maintenance work are different, so ask the dealer which campaign number applies to your vehicle.
For a recall-related review, include the recall or campaign number if you know it, when you first contacted the dealer, whether parts were available, how long the repair took and whether the concern was corrected. Avoid posting your full VIN publicly.
Roadside Assistance
Ford lists 1-800-241-3673 for Roadside Assistance and says the line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Eligibility, included services and coverage limits depend on the vehicle and program. Current Ford vehicle listings commonly show roadside coverage of 5 years/60,000 miles for new vehicles, while certified-used programs have their own terms.
When requesting roadside help, note the time of the request, your location, the service requested and any estimated arrival time. If towing is involved, confirm the destination and whether any charges fall outside your coverage before authorizing them.
Ford Credit: Payments, Payoff and Lease Questions
Ford Credit handles financing and leasing for many Ford customers. Its official support number is 1-800-727-7000. Ford Credit’s support page covers payments, payoff, lease questions and account management.
If your complaint involves a payment or account issue, keep the payment confirmation, date, amount and the exact account status shown before and after the transaction. For payoff or lease-end questions, ask for written figures and deadlines rather than relying only on a verbal estimate. Never include your account number in a public review.
Ford App and Connected Services
The Ford app can provide remote vehicle features, service scheduling and access to eligible Connected Services. Ford says available services vary by vehicle year, model and trim. Owners can view, activate, buy and cancel VIN-specific Connected Services through the app or an online Ford account.
Ford states that many Connected Services auto-renew unless canceled. For certain annual Connected Services plans, Ford describes a full-refund window within 14 days of purchase; after that period, cancellation may take effect at the end of the billing cycle without a refund. Terms can vary by product, so review the specific service terms shown for your VIN before purchasing or canceling.
BlueCruise and Other Subscription Features
BlueCruise and other connected features may be included for a trial period, sold as a subscription or offered through a one-time purchase depending on the vehicle. If your review involves a subscription charge, identify the service, the trial or purchase date, the renewal date shown in your account and the cancellation steps you followed.
Because connected-service pricing and eligibility can change by model year and vehicle configuration, use Ford’s Connected Services page and your Ford account for terms tied to your vehicle.
Dealer Sales and Service Issues
Ford dealerships are independently operated businesses, so a sales, trade-in or repair experience may involve both the dealership and Ford Motor Company. In a review, distinguish between what the dealer said or did and what Ford corporate support said or did.
For purchase disputes, keep the buyer’s order, financing or lease documents, advertised offer and any written promises. For repairs, keep every repair order and note whether the same symptom returned. If you escalate a concern to Ford, save the case or reference number and record the outcome.

Does posting on ZeroStars open a Ford support case?
No. ZeroStars is an independent consumer-review website. Posting a review does not contact Ford, request a repair, dispute a payment or create a Ford case. Use Ford’s official support channels for company assistance.
Can I review a Ford dealer and Ford Motor Company in the same post?
Yes, but explain which part of the experience involved the independent dealership and which part involved Ford corporate support. That distinction makes the review more useful to other readers.
