Peacock Reviews and Complaints About Streaming and Billing

Peacock is a subscription streaming service operated by Peacock TV LLC as part of NBCUniversal. It offers NBC and Bravo television programming, movies, Peacock Originals, live sports, events, channels, and other streaming content through several paid subscription plans.

Peacock reviews are sharply divided. Some subscribers value its NBCUniversal programming and live-event catalog, while others report concerns involving advertisements, buffering, app crashes, subscription prices, content availability, duplicate billing, cancellations, refunds, and difficulty resolving account problems.

Quick Verdict

Peacock is a legitimate streaming service operated by an established NBCUniversal company, but consumers should carefully compare its three subscription tiers before enrolling.

The lowest-priced Select plan does not include Peacock Originals, movies, live sports, or the live local NBC channel. Premium includes the broader catalog but contains advertisements. Premium Plus reduces commercial interruptions and permits downloads of eligible content, but it is not completely ad-free.

Before subscribing, confirm:

  • Which plan contains the program or sporting event you want to watch
  • Whether the subscription is monthly or annual
  • Whether the plan includes advertisements
  • Whether Peacock or a third party will bill you
  • The next renewal date and renewal price
  • Whether a promotional price will later convert to the standard rate

Peacock Reviews and Complaints

The ZeroStars Peacock listing currently displays one review and an overall rating of 0 stars.

The reviewer objects to Peacock’s price increases and says the increased price was not accompanied by enough improvement in available entertainment. The reviewer also asks Peacock to offer additional live programming and make autoplay an optional feature.

This is one individual opinion. It does not establish that every Peacock subscriber has the same concerns or assigns the same value to Peacock’s content.

There are currently no positive firsthand reviews on the Peacock ZeroStars listing. Broad statements about subscriber satisfaction should therefore not be presented as feedback from ZeroStars reviewers.

Frequently Reported Positive Experiences

Positive reviews on broader consumer and app platforms sometimes mention:

  • NBC and Bravo programming: Subscribers may value access to current-season episodes and television libraries associated with NBCUniversal.
  • Live sports and events: Premium subscribers can access eligible live sports and event programming.
  • Movies and Peacock Originals: Premium and Premium Plus include films and original programming that are not included with Select.
  • Multiple plan options: Consumers can choose a lower-cost television-focused plan or a broader plan with movies, originals, and sports.
  • Annual billing option: Annual subscriptions currently cost approximately the equivalent of ten monthly payments.
  • Offline viewing: Premium Plus allows eligible content to be downloaded to supported mobile devices.

Program availability, sports rights, movies, and promotions can change. Confirm that a specific title or event is included before purchasing a subscription solely to watch it.

Frequently Reported Peacock Complaints

Common complaints reported on broader public-review platforms include:

  • Buffering and freezing: Some users report interrupted playback, especially during heavily watched live events.
  • App crashes and login problems: Complaints describe apps closing, failing to load, signing users out, or repeatedly requesting activation.
  • Advertisements on paid plans: Some subscribers say they expected fewer commercial interruptions after paying for Peacock.
  • Ads on Premium Plus: Consumers may not realize that certain advertisements and promotional messages remain on the highest-priced plan.
  • Content excluded from Select: Some users purchase the lowest-priced plan and later discover that a desired movie, original, or sporting event requires Premium.
  • Subscription price increases: Reviewers sometimes question whether Peacock’s current catalog justifies a higher renewal price.
  • Duplicate subscriptions: A consumer may unknowingly have more than one Peacock account under different email addresses or billing providers.
  • Third-party cancellation confusion: Subscriptions purchased through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, Xfinity, Spectrum, DIRECTV, or another provider generally must be managed through that provider.
  • Refund disputes: Peacock’s general policy says subscription charges are nonrefundable, although exceptions may be issued at the company’s discretion or required by law.
  • Customer-support access: Some consumers prefer telephone support and are dissatisfied that Peacock primarily directs account questions to chat and email.
  • Autoplay: Some viewers dislike episodes or previews beginning automatically.
  • Live-event availability: Sports and local programming can be affected by plan restrictions, location, blackout rules, or content rights.

These are reported consumer experiences and allegations. Individual results depend on the account, plan, billing provider, device, internet connection, location, content rights, and support interaction.

Current Peacock Review Snapshot

As of July 22, 2026, Trustpilot displayed a 1.2 out of 5 rating based on approximately 1,264 reviews. About 87% of the displayed reviews were one-star ratings, while approximately 2% were five-star ratings.

Trustpilot’s current review summary identifies streaming quality, buffering, app performance, advertisements, subscription access, pricing, billing, and account management as frequent topics. Peacock has not claimed the Trustpilot profile or invited reviews through that platform, so the ratings should not be treated as a representative survey of all Peacock customers.

The Better Business Bureau currently lists Peacock TV LLC as not accredited with an F rating. BBB displays approximately 731 complaints during the preceding three years and 315 complaints closed during the preceding 12 months.

BBB currently identifies complaint volume and failure to respond to one complaint among the reasons for its rating. BBB ratings and complaint totals can change.

What Is Peacock?

Peacock is a streaming service provided by Peacock TV LLC and affiliated NBCUniversal companies. Its content can include:

  • NBC and Bravo television programs
  • Television-library programming
  • Peacock Originals
  • Universal and other licensed movies
  • Live sports and events
  • Streaming channels
  • Local NBC programming on qualifying plans and in eligible locations

The exact catalog varies by plan, date, device, geographic location, content rights, and blackout restrictions.

Does Peacock Still Have a Free Tier?

Peacock no longer presents a broad free plan among the standard options offered to new subscribers. Its current public plan page displays Select, Premium, and Premium Plus as paid subscriptions.

Certain legacy users, promotional users, or subscribers who cancel a paid plan may still have access to a limited amount of free content. That limited access should not be confused with Peacock’s former widely marketed free tier.

How Much Does Peacock Cost?

Peacock Select

  • Monthly price: $7.99 plus applicable tax
  • Annual price: $79.99 plus applicable tax
  • Advertisements: Yes
  • Includes: Eligible NBC, Bravo, and television-library content
  • Excludes: Movies, Peacock Originals, live sports, live events, movie channels, and the live local NBC channel

Select may be appropriate for consumers primarily interested in current and library television programming. It is not a lower-priced substitute for Premium when the desired content is a movie, original series, or sporting event.

Peacock Premium

  • Monthly price: $10.99 plus applicable tax
  • Annual price: $109.99 plus applicable tax
  • Advertisements: Yes
  • Includes: NBC and Bravo programs, movies, Peacock Originals, live sports, and eligible live events

Peacock Premium Plus

  • Monthly price: $16.99 plus applicable tax
  • Annual price: $169.99 plus applicable tax
  • Advertisements: Reduced, but not completely eliminated
  • Includes: Premium content, eligible downloads, and the live local NBC channel where available

Prices, promotions, taxes, plan names, features, and content availability can change. Review the current checkout page before subscribing.

Why Are There Ads on Peacock Premium?

Peacock Premium is an ad-supported subscription. Paying for Premium provides access to the broader Peacock content catalog; it does not remove advertisements.

Consumers who want fewer commercial interruptions can upgrade to Premium Plus.

Why Are There Still Ads on Peacock Premium Plus?

Peacock describes Premium Plus as providing viewing with no ads subject to limited exceptions. Advertisements, promotional messages, or sponsor messages can remain in:

  • Live sports
  • Live events
  • Streaming channels
  • Sponsored programming
  • Certain television programs and movies
  • Peacock or NBCUniversal promotional content

Consumers should interpret Premium Plus as a reduced-ad plan rather than an absolute guarantee that no commercial or promotional message will ever appear.

Peacock Buffering and Streaming Complaints

Buffering, poor picture quality, freezing, audio delays, and app crashes can result from the Peacock service, the device, the app version, internet congestion, Wi-Fi performance, live-event demand, or a combination of factors.

Peacock Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Close and reopen the Peacock app.
  2. Restart the streaming device, television, phone, tablet, or computer.
  3. Restart the modem and router.
  4. Check whether other streaming services are also buffering.
  5. Update the Peacock app.
  6. Update the device operating system or firmware.
  7. Sign out of Peacock and sign back in.
  8. Clear the app cache when the device provides that option.
  9. Try a wired connection or move closer to the Wi-Fi router.
  10. Test Peacock on a second supported device.
  11. Record the title, event, time, device, and error message before contacting support.

Do not immediately purchase a second subscription when an existing account will not activate. First confirm the email address and billing provider attached to the original subscription.

How Many Devices Can Stream Peacock at Once?

Peacock currently permits a maximum of three concurrent streams per account. A stream-limit message can appear when too many household devices are actively watching or when an app remains active on a device that is no longer being used.

Sign out of unused devices and close open streams before attempting playback again.

How to Check Your Peacock Plan and Charges

  1. Sign in directly through the official Peacock website.
  2. Open your account.
  3. Select Plans & Payment.
  4. Review the plan name, monthly or annual billing frequency, payment method, and next billing date.
  5. Select View Payment History to review direct Peacock charges.
  6. Check whether the account says it is billed through a third party.

If no charge appears in that account, repeat the process using any other email address you may have used for Peacock.

How to Find a Duplicate Peacock Subscription

Duplicate billing can occur when a consumer creates multiple accounts or pays Peacock directly while also receiving it through another provider.

Check:

  • Every email address used by members of the household
  • Apple subscriptions
  • Google Play subscriptions
  • Roku subscriptions
  • Amazon or Prime Video Channels
  • Xfinity benefits
  • Spectrum benefits
  • DIRECTV add-ons
  • Walmart+, Instacart+, or another promotional partner
  • Bank and credit-card statement descriptors

Document which account and company controls each subscription before canceling anything. Canceling one Peacock account does not automatically cancel another subscription billed through a different provider.

How to Cancel Peacock

Cancel a Subscription Billed Directly by Peacock

  1. Sign in at the official Peacock website.
  2. Open your account.
  3. Select Plans & Payment.
  4. Select Cancel Plan.
  5. Complete every confirmation step.
  6. Save the cancellation confirmation and effective date.
  7. Confirm that the account no longer displays an upcoming renewal charge.

Peacock’s terms say cancellation must be completed no later than the day before the next recurring billing date to avoid another subscription term.

Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. The subscriber can ordinarily continue watching until that date.

Cancel a Peacock Subscription Through a Third Party

If the Peacock account is billed through another company, cancel it through that provider. Possible billing providers include:

  • Apple
  • Google Play
  • Roku
  • Amazon
  • Xfinity
  • Spectrum
  • DIRECTV
  • Another television, internet, retail, or promotional partner

The Peacock account page should identify whether the subscription is third-party billed. The third party’s cancellation and refund terms generally control its charges.

Deleting the Peacock app, signing out, deleting a profile, or changing a payment card does not necessarily cancel a subscription.

Does Peacock Give Refunds?

Peacock states that subscription charges are generally nonrefundable. It reserves the right to issue a refund, credit, or discount at its discretion, and additional consumer rights may apply where required by law.

Canceling normally stops the next renewal rather than refunding the current monthly or annual period.

How to Request a Peacock Refund

  1. Identify whether Peacock or a third party processed the charge.
  2. Record the charge date, amount, statement description, and account email.
  3. Check the Peacock payment history.
  4. Check for another Peacock account using a different email address.
  5. Contact the company that processed the payment.
  6. Explain whether the charge was duplicate, unauthorized, post-cancellation, promotional, monthly, or annual.
  7. Ask for the decision and any promised refund date in writing.
  8. Retain chat transcripts, emails, screenshots, and cancellation confirmations.

If a promised refund does not appear, ask for a refund reference number and confirm which card or account received the credit.

What to Do About an Unrecognized Peacock Charge

An unfamiliar Peacock-related charge may result from:

  • A monthly subscription
  • An annual renewal
  • A Premium Plus upgrade
  • A second account using another email address
  • A household member’s subscription
  • A third-party app-store purchase
  • A promotion that converted to standard pricing
  • An unauthorized transaction

Check all possible accounts and billing providers before reporting fraud. If Peacock and the billing provider cannot identify or resolve the transaction, contact the bank or card issuer promptly and ask about its billing-dispute procedures and deadlines.

A bank dispute does not necessarily cancel the associated Peacock subscription. Cancel the subscription separately.

Peacock Customer Support

Peacock primarily directs subscription, cancellation, billing, and streaming questions to online chat and email. The listed telephone number should not be assumed to provide live general account support.

How to Contact Peacock More Effectively

Before starting a support chat, gather:

  • The Peacock account email address
  • The plan name
  • The billing provider
  • The charge date and amount
  • The last four digits of the payment method, only when requested securely
  • The device and app version
  • The program or event affected
  • The exact error message
  • Prior case or chat numbers
  • Cancellation or refund confirmations

Do not send a complete card number, account password, or unredacted financial statement through a public review or unsecured message.

Is Peacock a Scam?

Peacock is not an anonymous or unverifiable website. It is operated by Peacock TV LLC as part of NBCUniversal and has an established streaming platform, official apps, published subscription terms, and identifiable corporate information.

That does not mean every subscriber will be satisfied. Consumers have reported legitimate concerns involving advertisements, technical performance, account access, duplicate charges, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and support.

The most useful questions before subscribing are:

  • Does my desired content require Select, Premium, or Premium Plus?
  • Will I still see advertisements?
  • Am I selecting monthly or annual billing?
  • Will the price increase after a promotion?
  • Is Peacock or another company billing me?
  • What is the renewal date?
  • What happens if I cancel?
  • Is the subscription generally refundable?

Peacock Select currently costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year, plus applicable tax.

Title: Not everyone is a bingeing idiot
Review: I find Peacock’s recent announcement of fee increases bothersome. Overall you have not made any changes to the streams of entertainment… certainly, you added little to no quality entertainment. If you feel you are wanting to survive, then you should add some elements of LIVE entertainment… like Paramount. Next, STOP pretending that everyone streams to blindly fill their brain with endless crap. STOP AUTOPLAY. At least make autoplay a user option… if you want to be the replacement for regular TV, then start behaving like it… what viewers mix up their entertainment throughout the day.
