Title: Snow blower auger failed after a few hours of operation. no support or help
Review: Snow blower auger quit working while cleaning driveway of light snow. 5th time using over the last couple of years Contacted customer service in late November left a poor review when Ryobi didn\'t respond. Dec 16 Kathryn from Ryobi Reviews sent an email saying she would have the product management team contact me. Dec 18 Seth contacted me said the sear pins were broken. Could you please provide two photos A photo of the data label. This is at the rear of the unit and has the serial number and model number. One or two clear photos of the inside of the auger bucket. This is showing the auger and impeller in the rear of the unit with shear bolts visible. I would also like to ask for the following information. If we cannot solve through email, I will escalate to our service team. I have blown heavier snow than this no problem and it was odd that it seemed to act like it was over loading and stopping. Batteries still had 3/4 of a charge but I swapped out for 4 other batteries that were fully charged and got the same one click result. I have had the unit for about 3 years and this was the 5th time it was used. It takes less than an hour to do my driveway so it does not have many hours. The batteries are used on my lawn mower, edger, weedwacker, chainsaw and blower to name a few, so the batteries have not been sitting idle for the last 3 years. The second set of 4 batteries were purchased in September of this year so I could have 2 complete sets for the snow blower. We are Ryobi everything here and this is the first time having an issue and of course it\'s the most expensive Ryobi item purchased. If it was a drill I would not have cared.\" Dec 23 Seth followed up with Traditionally you could contact our customer service line. In this instance, I do believe that what you are experiencing is serviceable, and I have already passed your information onto our service team. They would let you know what to do for getting to a service center or if you needed to work with our specialized service team. In your case, we have a team that actually comes on site to service units (instead of needing to go to a service center). They will determine what is the best path forward for you. Please understand that they may not be able to reach out until after the holiday season. I will follow up with the service team at that time to make sure they have connected with you. No one from customer service contacted me found out on line the unit will work if you heat up control board with a hair dryer. This has worked for me but while using the unit of 25 deg or below days it will stop as the unit cools down, at 17 deg it lasts about 5 feet. If you need a snowblower that only works in warm weather, this is the unit for you.
