Overview
Cricket Wireless reviews and complaints can help other customers understand a prepaid wireless, billing, device, coverage or customer-service experience. Share what happened, which plan or device you used and whether Cricket resolved the issue. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.
Cricket Wireless is a prepaid wireless brand and subsidiary of AT&T Inc. Cricket uses AT&T’s nationwide network and currently offers monthly, multi-month, smartwatch and data-only plans with no annual service contract. Plan pricing, Auto Pay credits, hotspot allowances and network-management terms vary by plan.
What to Include in Your Cricket Wireless Review
A useful Cricket review explains your own experience in enough detail for another customer to understand it:
- Plan and device: Sensible 10GB, Select Unlimited, Smart Unlimited, Supreme Unlimited, a multi-month plan or another Cricket service.
- What happened: the approximate date, billing issue, dropped or slow service, activation problem, device return, unlock request, port-out problem or fraud concern.
- Support route: phone, 611, chat, myCricket app, online account or store.
- Outcome: what Cricket promised and whether the account correction, credit, unlock, return, refund or number transfer was completed.
Choose the rating that reflects your experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not publish account PINs, passwords, transfer PINs, payment details, one-time verification codes or unredacted account records in a public review.
Current Cricket Wireless Plans
Cricket’s current monthly lineup includes Sensible 10GB, Select Unlimited, Smart Unlimited and Supreme Unlimited. Cricket also sells prepaid multi-month Unlimited plans and separate Simply Data plans.
All current phone plans include access to Cricket’s nationwide 5G service on the AT&T network with a compatible device and coverage. Some plans include hotspot data or international roaming features that are not included with lower-priced plans.
Prepaid Service and No Annual Contract
Cricket is a prepaid wireless provider. Current monthly plans do not require an annual service contract, and the company states that monthly taxes are included in the advertised rate-plan price.
This does not mean every payment is refundable. Cricket service charges, account credits and prepaid multi-month payments can have separate nonrefundability rules.
Coverage and Network Performance
Cricket uses the AT&T network. Coverage and 5G availability depend on location, device compatibility, network conditions and local capacity.
Some current unlimited plans allow Cricket to temporarily reduce data priority when the network is busy. The Sensible 10GB plan instead reduces data speed after the plan’s high-speed allowance is used. If your review concerns performance, identify the plan, location and whether the issue was temporary or consistent.
Billing, Due Dates and Service Suspension
Cricket service is prepaid. The payment due date is the last day of the billing cycle, and Cricket says payment must be received by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the due date.
If payment is not received on time, service is suspended. Current Cricket fee guidance lists reactivation charges for suspended accounts, with the amount varying by whether the account has one line or multiple lines and how long the account has been suspended.
Account Cancellation After Nonpayment
Current Cricket billing guidance says a suspended account can be reactivated for up to 59 days after the due date. On the 60th day, the account is canceled and cannot be reactivated.
If you want to keep your number, do not rely on automatic cancellation from nonpayment. Contact Cricket or complete a number transfer before the account is canceled and the number becomes unavailable.
Canceling Cricket Wireless Service
Cricket’s service terms allow customers to cancel service at any time. Because Cricket is prepaid, customers generally do not receive a refund or credit for unused service if they cancel before the end of a paid service period.
For help canceling an account or line, contact Cricket at 1-800-274-2538. If you are moving your number to another carrier, complete the port-out before closing the Cricket account.
Number Transfers and Port-Outs
Cricket requires a Number Transfer PIN to port a line to another carrier. Account Lock must be turned off before a normal port-out can complete.
If your review concerns a port-out, note whether Account Lock was enabled, whether you generated the correct transfer PIN and whether the receiving carrier successfully completed the transfer before the Cricket account or line was canceled.
Account Lock and SIM-Swap Protection
Cricket’s free Account Lock feature in the myCricket app blocks unauthorized SIM swaps and port-outs while enabled. For multi-line accounts, the setting applies to every line on the account.
If you receive a port-out, SIM-swap or verification-code alert that you did not request, Cricket tells customers to contact Cricket Care immediately at 1-800-274-2538.
Multifactor Authentication
Cricket uses text-message verification codes for multifactor authentication when customers create an account, sign in from certain new devices or browsers, reset a password or complete other security-sensitive actions.
Do not share one-time verification codes with an unsolicited caller or message. If a code arrives for an action you did not initiate, secure the account and contact Cricket.
Auto Pay and Monthly Credits
Eligible monthly voice plans can receive a $5 monthly service credit when Auto Pay is active. Auto Pay charges the payment method shortly before the monthly due date.
Multi-month plans, Simply Data plans and some promotional accounts are not eligible for the Auto Pay credit. If your review concerns a missing credit, identify whether your plan is eligible and whether Auto Pay was active before the payment cycle.
Taxes and Additional Fees
Cricket says applicable state and local taxes are included in current monthly rate-plan and feature pricing, but separate transaction charges can still apply.
Current published fees include in-store activation and upgrade charges, reactivation fees, number-change fees, BridgePay fees and a customer-assistance fee for certain representative-assisted or automated phone payments. Fees can change, so compare a disputed charge with Cricket’s current fee page.
BridgePay
BridgePay is Cricket’s option for splitting an eligible monthly service payment into smaller payments. An activation fee and minimum payment apply when BridgePay is started.
If your review concerns BridgePay, identify when it was activated, the required payment schedule and whether service was suspended after a missed installment.
Device Returns and Exchanges
Cricket currently provides a 7-day return period for qualifying phones and certain SIM purchases. Online purchases must have a return request started within seven days after delivery and must be mailed back using Cricket’s prepaid label. In-store devices generally must be returned or exchanged at the same store within seven calendar days.
Returned devices must meet Cricket’s condition and packaging requirements. Online device purchases cannot normally be returned to a retail store.
Refund Timing for Device Returns
For an approved online device return, Cricket says the refund is generally issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after the return is received and approved.
Service payments are different from device returns. Cricket’s prepaid service charges are generally nonrefundable, and in-store service payments are specifically listed as nonrefundable.
Device Unlock Rules
Cricket’s unlock policy changed in 2026. Devices purchased on or after July 1, 2026 generally must have at least 365 days of paid Cricket service before they qualify for unlocking. Devices purchased before July 1, 2026 generally use the previous requirement of at least six months of paid service.
The device must also be designed for and locked to Cricket, connected to the Internet and not reported lost, stolen or associated with fraud. Current iPhones can often be unlocked through the online process, while many Android devices use the myCricket app or Cricket Device Unlock app.
Phone Promotions and Unlock Expectations
Cricket regularly offers discounted or free devices to qualifying new customers, port-ins and customers on specific plans. Promotional device pricing can come with plan or service-duration requirements even though the underlying wireless plan does not have an annual service contract.
If your review concerns a promotional phone, identify the device offer, plan requirement and purchase date. The July 1, 2026 unlock-policy change makes the purchase date especially important.
International Use and Mexico/Canada
Current Cricket plans starting with Smart Unlimited and above include qualifying usage in Mexico and Canada under Cricket’s stated roaming conditions. Primary usage must still occur in the United States, and usage limits can apply.
If your review concerns international service, identify whether the issue involved Mexico/Canada roaming or a separate international-calling add-on, since those features have different terms.
myCricket App and Online Account
The myCricket app and online account can be used to review payments, change plans and features, manage Auto Pay, check usage, enable Account Lock and access security settings.
If your review concerns account access, note whether the issue affected the app, website or both and whether password reset or verification resolved it.
Ownership and Company Status
Cricket Wireless LLC is a subsidiary of AT&T Inc. Current Cricket marketing describes the service as operating on the AT&T network, while Cricket remains a separate prepaid consumer brand.
The current Cricket corporate address is 1025 Lenox Park Blvd. NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.
