About HomeGoods
HomeGoods is a U.S. off-price retailer for furniture, rugs, lighting, décor, cookware and other home merchandise. It is part of The TJX Companies, Inc., which also operates TJ Maxx and Marshalls. HomeGoods currently describes its shopping as in-store only. Its website helps shoppers find locations and learn about products, gift cards and rewards; it does not currently sell HomeGoods merchandise for online delivery. Share a first-hand experience and rate it from −5 through +5, including 0 for a mixed or neutral experience.
What to Include in Your Review
Identify the store and approximate purchase date, the product category and condition, the price shown and paid, and any delivery provider or return attempt. Explain whom you contacted, what was promised and whether you received an exchange, original-payment refund or merchandise credit. Avoid posting a receipt image that reveals payment information, a gift-card number, address or other private details.
Furniture and Local Delivery
HomeGoods says delivery is available at many stores through a third-party service. Same-day availability, service area, price and restrictions depend on the provider, item size, distance and schedule. Ask the store which provider will carry your purchase, what the delivery includes, and whom to contact about damage or a missed appointment. Keep both the store receipt and the delivery booking details. A product return follows the HomeGoods return terms; a separate delivery charge or dispute may follow the third-party provider’s terms.
Returns and Exchanges
Merchandise purchased in a HomeGoods store can generally be returned to any open HomeGoods store within 30 days of purchase. With a register receipt, an eligible item may receive an exchange or refund in the original form of payment. A cash refund for a check purchase requires a 10-day waiting period. A return with a receipt after 30 days, a gift receipt or no receipt generally results in merchandise credit if accepted.
Items must be in original condition: not damaged or altered, with hangtags and original packaging where possible. Used or unsellable merchandise is not eligible. Additional restrictions and local laws may apply. HomeGoods may limit or decline a return under its verification system. A HomeGoods purchase should be taken to a HomeGoods store, even when the original shop shared a building with a TJ Maxx or Marshalls.
No-Receipt Returns and Email Receipts
A return without a receipt receives nontransferable merchandise credit rather than an original-payment refund if the item is eligible. HomeGoods requires a valid government-issued photo ID, name, address and signature to issue it and may require matching ID to redeem it. A gift receipt likewise qualifies for credit rather than a refund to the buyer’s card.
At select locations, a customer can request an email receipt at the register as well as the paper copy. HomeGoods says the email receipt can be used for a return under the same policy. The email receipt is not linked to a TJX Rewards credit-card account. Keep a readable copy of the receipt, especially for a larger furniture purchase.
Refunds and Store Credit
Within the regular window, a receipt-backed eligible return is normally refunded to the original tender. For a late, gift or no-receipt return, HomeGoods’ merchandise credit has different terms; a no-receipt credit is nontransferable and tied to the named recipient’s ID. Ask the store for a return transaction record and keep the credit until the matter is resolved. The time for an original-payment refund to appear on a bank or card account can depend on the issuer; HomeGoods does not publish one universal posting time for every method.
Gift Cards, Rewards and Promotions
HomeGoods sells gift cards that it says have no expiration date and can be redeemed in store. Check gift-card and Rewards Certificate balances through the official gift-card page. A merchandise credit issued for a return is different from a gift card and can have use and identity restrictions.
The TJX Rewards credit card earns points on eligible purchases across participating TJX brands; current card offers and terms determine the rewards earned. HomeGoods’ app can show digital Rewards Certificates and support in-store redemption after an account is linked. Rewards Certificates can also be used at participating sister-brand websites, but that does not mean HomeGoods itself sells products online. HomeGoods says it generally does not rely on coupons, sales or routine promotions; confirm any offer and its terms before purchasing.
Product Safety and Ownership
HomeGoods posts recent product recalls and directs shoppers to the relevant agency notices. For a possible recalled or damaged item, preserve its identifying label and receipt and use the published recall instructions or contact customer service. A manufacturer’s product warranty, if any, is separate from HomeGoods’ store return policy. TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods share TJX ownership, but each brand handles its own merchandise returns.

Store Selection and Customer Service
HomeGoods’ assortment changes frequently. The company says it does not offer a merchandise tracking service or a comprehensive product catalog because stores receive many different items each week. A local store can answer questions about its hours, services and current stock, but an item seen elsewhere may not be available at another location. Use the official store locator to find a store and its phone number before visiting.

Frequently asked questions
HomeGoods FAQs
Can I buy HomeGoods merchandise online?
HomeGoods currently says it is in-store only. Its website offers a store locator and information about gift cards and rewards, but it is not a HomeGoods merchandise checkout.
What is the HomeGoods return window?
Generally 30 days from an in-store purchase for an eligible exchange or refund with a register receipt. Later returns may receive merchandise credit, subject to the condition rules and other restrictions.
Can I return without a receipt?
An eligible no-receipt return receives nontransferable merchandise credit and requires government-issued photo ID and identifying information. The return can be limited or declined by verification.
Can I return a HomeGoods item to TJ Maxx or Marshalls?
Use a HomeGoods store for a HomeGoods purchase. Shared ownership and combined store locations do not make the brands’ merchandise return routes interchangeable.
Does HomeGoods deliver furniture?
Many stores offer delivery through a third-party provider. Availability, fees and schedule vary, so confirm the arrangement with your local store before buying.
Can an email receipt be used for a return?
Yes, where a store issues email receipts, HomeGoods says an email receipt can be used under the same return policy as a paper receipt.
