About Viking appliances and ownership

This page covers Viking Range, LLC kitchen appliances. Viking is part of Composition Brands, the residential kitchen business formed following the February 2026 transaction in which a 26North affiliate acquired a 51% stake and Middleby retained 49%. Related brands do not automatically share Viking’s warranty terms or claim procedures. Viking’s official support page still lists a middlebyresidential.com customer care email.

For other appliance experiences, visit Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero or the Appliances category.

What to include in a Viking review

Identify the appliance type, model, approximate purchase date and length of ownership. Describe everyday performance such as oven consistency, burner ignition, induction controls, cooling, ice production, dishwasher results or ventilation noise. Explain what happened and separate your observations from a technician’s diagnosis.

For service, include appointment timing, the diagnosis, communication, parts availability, quoted and paid charges, and whether the repair solved the problem. Positive experiences and successful resolutions are useful alongside complaints. A mixed review can explain good appliance performance and a disappointing repair experience, or the reverse. Identify whether Viking, the dealer, delivery company or installer handled each issue. Keep full serial numbers, private contact information and payment details out of public reviews.

Registration and product documentation

Start at Viking product registration. Keep the purchase receipt, installation records, model and serial number, dealer information and service invoices. Viking states that returning the registration card is not a condition of warranty coverage, while registration helps it contact owners about safety issues.

The product documentation library includes manuals, specifications and installation material for active and discontinued products. Search by model or product name and select the correct category. Use the matching manual for operation, cleaning, maintenance and installation requirements rather than another model’s instructions.

Viking warranty coverage and exclusions

The current warranty page lists two-year full coverage for indoor appliances and one year for outdoor products, subject to its terms. Specified components receive longer parts-only protection. Some refrigeration categories have sealed-system parts-and-labor coverage through year six and parts-only coverage through year twelve; the twelve-year provision does not cover every refrigerator category or component.

Cosmetic manufacturing defects have a 90-day period, with reporting to the selling dealer required. Exclusions include damage from abuse, accidents, improper installation or operation, and unauthorized repair service. The terms also exclude specified as-is, used, refurbished and other nonstandard purchases. Commercial and “Residential Plus” use have different restrictions.

Use the warranty applicable to your exact product and purchase. Ask Customer Care to confirm coverage before authorizing work, especially for older products, promotional coverage or a transferred appliance.

Authorized service and repair scheduling

The official support center provides a Product Support Request option and directs repair calls to 888-845-4641, press 3. You can also use Find a Servicer to locate a provider and arrange an appointment. Have your model, serial number, purchase date, symptoms and repair history ready.

Confirm authorization for a manufacturer-paid claim before commissioning work. Ask the provider for an itemized estimate covering diagnosis, travel, labor, parts and any follow-up visit. Get the scope of any repair guarantee in writing. If a retailer protection plan or third-party service contract is involved, follow that administrator’s claim process and approval requirements.

Viking replacement parts

Viking’s website links owners to its officially linked parts portal. Use the complete model and serial number to confirm the correct part or ask Customer Care for assistance. Parts compatibility should be checked before ordering a burner component, rack, seal, control or other replacement.

A parts purchase is separate from an authorized warranty repair. Confirm the seller’s return rules and any part warranty, including whether labor is included, before opening or installing the item. Do not assume that an independently purchased part or a third-party repair invoice will be reimbursed.

Delivery, installation and retailer returns

Viking provides an authorized dealer locator and product installation documentation. Obtain the seller’s written delivery, cancellation, return, exchange and damage-reporting terms before purchase. A manufacturer defect claim does not automatically establish eligibility for a retailer return.

Before installation, agree on responsibility for cabinet fit, electrical or gas connections, plumbing, ventilation, securing the appliance and haul-away. Confirm scope and price in writing and keep installation records. Photograph delivery damage promptly and contact the company responsible. Viking’s servicer locator describes repair, maintenance and installation services; confirm which services a specific local provider offers.

Viking recalls and safety information

Use Viking’s recall and safety page to check your exact model and serial number. One notice, announced February 16, 2022, concerns specified 5 Series VGR and VGIC gas ranges manufactured during the listed 2021 dates. Gas tubing can separate, creating a gas-leak and fire hazard.

For ranges affected by that notice, Viking instructs owners to stop using the bake, broil and griddle functions. The notice permits use of the top surface burners; that permission should not be applied to a different recall or appliance. Follow the notice’s identification instructions and arrange the free repair through 888-566-2512. Check all relevant notices rather than assuming this is the only Viking recall.

Escalating an unresolved Viking complaint

Send Customer Care a concise timeline, case number, purchase records, service invoices, diagnosis and the resolution you are requesting. Ask for a case review or supervisor if earlier contacts have not resolved the issue. Request a written explanation of any denied coverage and the next available step. Keep dealer promises, delivery claims and installer agreements with the company responsible for each part of the transaction.

Official sources

Official sources checked September 29, 2026. Sources include Viking’s linked support, registration, documentation, warranty, service, parts and recall resources; the completed ownership transaction announcement; and the company-issued Composition Brands announcement. Confirm the terms and service availability that apply to your appliance and location.

Frequently asked questions

Viking FAQs

Who owns Viking appliances?

Viking is part of Composition Brands. Following the completed February 2026 transaction, a 26North affiliate holds a controlling 51% interest in the residential business and Middleby retains 49%. Use Viking’s own support channels for appliance claims.

How do I schedule a Viking repair?

Use the official Product Support Request option, contact Customer Care or find a local provider through Viking’s servicer locator. Confirm authorization, appointment availability and charges before work begins.

Does extended component coverage pay for every repair?

No. Coverage depends on the product, component, time period and applicable warranty. Request a breakdown of covered work and any owner-paid costs.

Where can I find a manual for an older Viking appliance?

Search the official documentation library, which includes discontinued products. If you cannot identify the right manual, provide the complete model and serial number to Customer Care.

Can I return an appliance to the dealer instead of using warranty service?

Ask the seller about its return or exchange terms. The retailer’s policy and Viking’s manufacturer warranty are separate processes.

Can I rate a mixed experience 0?

Yes. ZeroStars accepts ratings from −5 to +5, including 0 for neutral or mixed experiences. Explain what worked, what did not and the eventual outcome.
