Overview

Boost Mobile reviews and complaints can help other customers understand a wireless, billing, device, coverage, financing or customer-service experience. Share what happened, which plan or device you used and whether Boost resolved the issue. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.

Boost Mobile is a wireless brand owned by EchoStar Corporation. The older split between Boost Mobile prepaid and Boost Infinite postpaid service has been consolidated under the Boost Mobile brand. Current customers can choose no-contract service, prepaid-style offers, or device-financing options depending on the account and promotion.

What to Include in Your Boost Mobile Review
  • Plan and device: Unlimited, Global Connection, Unlimited+, Unlimited Premium, a prepaid offer, financed device or another Boost service.
  • What happened: the approximate date, billing issue, coverage problem, slow data, activation issue, device return, unlock request, financing dispute, port-out or fraud concern.
  • Support route: phone, chat, Boost Mobile app, online account or store.
  • Outcome: what Boost promised and whether the credit, refund, unlock, port, return or account correction was completed.

Choose the rating that reflects your experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not publish your security PIN, port-out PIN, password, payment details, one-time verification codes or unredacted account records.

Current Boost Mobile Plans

Boost currently markets Unlimited, Global Connection, Unlimited+ and Unlimited Premium plans. The entry Unlimited plan is currently advertised at $25 per month with AutoPay after the promotional introductory period, while higher tiers add features such as hotspot data, global calling, North America roaming and larger premium-data allowances.

Boost says its current phone plans do not require a service contract. Device financing is separate: customers financing a phone still remain responsible for the device balance even if wireless service is canceled.

No-Contract Service and Device Financing

Boost’s current account options include no-contract service, outright device purchases and financed devices. Some accounts use Buy Now, Pay Later or other financing arrangements.

If your review concerns cancellation, separate the wireless service from the device financing balance. Ending service does not automatically erase money still owed on a financed phone.

Coverage and Network Performance

Boost currently describes itself as a hybrid wireless operator. The company maintains its own cloud-based 5G core while using partner physical tower networks to extend nationwide coverage.

Coverage and performance depend on location, device, network assignment, congestion, terrain and local signal conditions. If your review concerns coverage, identify the general location and whether the problem is consistent or occurs only at specific times or places.

Premium Data and Reduced Speeds

Current Boost unlimited plans include different premium high-speed-data thresholds. For example, the $25 Unlimited plan currently includes 30GB of premium data, while higher tiers can include 40GB or 50GB.

Boost says speeds may be reduced to around 512 kbps after the applicable premium-data allowance is used. If your complaint concerns slower speeds, identify the plan and whether the high-speed allowance had already been reached.

Hotspot and International Features

Hotspot availability depends on the plan. Unlimited+ and Unlimited Premium currently include hotspot capability, while Global Connection and Unlimited Premium include broader international calling or roaming benefits.

If your review concerns international service, distinguish between international calling from the United States and roaming while abroad because those are different features.

Billing and AutoPay

Boost customers can review billing and due dates in the Boost Mobile app or online account. AutoPay processes the saved payment method on the payment due date.

Current Unlimited, Unlimited+ and Unlimited Premium pricing includes a $5 monthly AutoPay discount. Turning off AutoPay can increase the monthly service price on eligible plans.

Assisted Payment Fees

Boost’s current billing guidance says payments made through Customer Care can be subject to a convenience fee. Customers can avoid that charge by paying online, in the app or through another supported self-service method when available.

If your review concerns a payment fee, identify the payment channel used and whether the fee was disclosed before the transaction was completed.

Taxes and Fees

Boost adds applicable taxes, regulatory charges and surcharges based on federal, state and local requirements. These charges can vary by billing address and service type.

If your review concerns an unexpected total, compare the advertised plan price with the taxes and fees listed separately on the bill.

30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Boost currently offers a 30-day service money-back guarantee for qualifying new customers. Eligibility generally requires a new account, a number ported in from another carrier and enrollment in AutoPay.

Eligible customers must contact Boost Customer Care at 1-833-502-6678 within 30 days of account creation. Activation fees are not refunded, and Boost Protect can be subject to a prorated charge.

Device Returns

Devices purchased directly from boostmobile.com can currently be returned within 30 days after shipment. Devices purchased from a Boost Mobile retail store can generally be returned within 30 days after activation.

Returned devices must be in like-new condition and include the original contents. Restocking fees of up to $50 can apply in some cases.

How to Return an Online Boost Device

Boost requires customers to call 1-833-502-6678 to start an eligible online device return. Boost provides a Return Authorization Number and a specific return address.

The customer must pay for tracked shipping. Boost says it will not accept a return if postage is due. Keep the tracking information until the refund is complete.

Device Return Refund Timing

Boost’s current return guidance says refunds to credit or debit cards are generally processed within 7–14 business days after an accepted return. Paper-check refunds can take 14–21 business days.

Device refunds and service refunds are separate. A device return does not automatically refund wireless service unless the account also qualifies under the 30-day service guarantee.

Device Unlock Policy

Boost’s current unlock policy differs for prepaid and financed/postpaid devices.

Prepaid devices: eligible devices are generally unlocked one year after initial activation, provided the account is in good standing and any financed device balance is paid.

Financed or postpaid devices: a financed device becomes eligible once the financing plan is completed. A qualifying device purchased outright can be eligible immediately. Boost says eligible devices are generally unlocked remotely within two business days.

Number Transfers and Port-Out PINs

Customers moving a Boost number to another carrier should not cancel the Boost line first. Boost says the line will cancel automatically after the number transfer completes.

To obtain a port-out PIN, call Boost Customer Care at 1-833-502-6678. Each number being transferred requires its own port-out PIN.

Account Security and Fraud

Boost uses a four-digit Security PIN plus multi-factor authentication for sensitive account actions. Login verification codes are normally sent by text after the line is active.

If you cannot receive the verification text or suspect account takeover, Boost directs customers to Customer Care for additional verification.

SIM-Swap and Port-Out Fraud

Boost warns customers about SIM-swap and unauthorized port-out scams. The company says it will not call or text asking for personal information such as passwords, PINs or security credentials.

If service suddenly disappears unexpectedly, contact Boost from another device and verify whether a SIM change or port-out was attempted.

Canceling Boost Mobile Service

Boost directs customers to Customer Care at 1-833-502-6678 to cancel a line.

Before canceling, confirm any remaining device balance, final service charges, promotions, return obligations and whether a phone number needs to be transferred to another carrier.

Reactivating Service

Boost can reactivate eligible lines through Customer Care. A discontinued plan or promotion may not be available if service was canceled and later restarted.

If your review concerns reactivation, identify whether the original plan, discount or add-on was restored or replaced.

Boost Mobile App and Online Account

The Boost Mobile app and online account let customers review bills, usage, plan details, payment methods, AutoPay, password and security-PIN settings.

If your review concerns account access, note whether the issue affected the app, website or both and whether password recovery or Customer Care resolved it.

Ownership and Company Status

Boost Mobile is currently owned by EchoStar Corporation. EchoStar identifies Boost Mobile, DISH Network, Sling TV and Hughes Network Systems among its major consumer brands.

The former Boost Infinite postpaid brand has been folded into Boost Mobile, so this page covers the current unified Boost Mobile consumer brand rather than treating Boost Infinite as a separate company.
