Overview

Hyundai reviews and complaints can help other drivers understand a vehicle, dealership, warranty, repair, financing, roadside-assistance or connected-service experience. Share what happened, which Hyundai model or service you used and whether the issue was resolved. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.

Hyundai sells cars, SUVs, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles in the United States and supports owners through Hyundai dealers, the Hyundai Consumer Assistance Center, Hyundai Roadside Assistance, Bluelink and Hyundai Motor Finance. The editorial information below summarizes selected official support, warranty, recall and ownership information; it is separate from customer reviews and does not represent a survey of Hyundai owners.

What to Include in Your Hyundai Review

A useful Hyundai review gives enough detail for another consumer to understand the experience without exposing personal information:

  • Vehicle: model, model year, trim or powertrain and approximate mileage.
  • Dealer or service location: dealership name and city or state.
  • What happened: sales issue, repair concern, warranty decision, recall, financing problem, roadside event or connected-service issue.
  • Timeline: approximate dates, number of visits and how long the vehicle was unavailable.
  • Resolution: what the dealer, Hyundai or Hyundai Motor Finance offered and whether the issue was corrected.

Choose the rating that reflects your own experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not post your full VIN, finance account number, Bluelink credentials, license plate, home address, phone number or unredacted service documents.

Warranty and Repair Concerns

Hyundai’s current warranty materials list a 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty, subject to the applicable warranty handbook, exclusions and eligibility rules. Hyundai states that the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage applies to the original owner.

Hyundai also lists a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and separate emissions coverage. For eligible hybrid and electric vehicles, Hyundai currently lists a 10-year/100,000-mile Hybrid/EV Battery Warranty, subject to model-specific terms and limitations.

If you dispute a warranty decision, ask the dealer to identify the warranty provision being applied and request a written repair order showing the complaint, diagnosis, parts replaced and final disposition. Keep every repair order, including visits where no repair was completed.

Recalls and Service Campaigns

Hyundai provides VIN-based recall and campaign information through MyHyundai and its campaign pages. Hyundai says recall-related repairs are performed at no charge when the vehicle is covered by the applicable safety recall.

If your review involves a recall or service campaign, include the campaign number if you know it, when you contacted the dealer, whether parts or software were available, how long the repair took and whether the remedy was completed. Hyundai also provides a campaign-reimbursement process for certain eligible out-of-pocket repairs.

Roadside Assistance

Hyundai lists 1-800-243-7766 for Roadside Assistance. Hyundai says the service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is included for 5 years with unlimited miles on eligible new vehicles from the in-service date.

Services can include towing, battery jump-starts, lockout service, flat-tire assistance, emergency fuel delivery and trip-interruption benefits, subject to program terms and limits. Hyundai currently states that original owners are eligible for two complimentary roadside events per year under the program.

If your complaint involves roadside assistance, document the request time, location, estimated arrival time, towing destination and any charge you were asked to approve.

Hyundai Motor Finance: Payments, Loans and Leases

Hyundai Motor Finance handles financing and leasing for many Hyundai customers. Hyundai Motor Finance materials list 1-800-523-4030 for customer-service and account questions.

Existing customers can use their Hyundai Motor Finance account for payments, payoff information and other account-management tasks. If your complaint involves a payment, payoff or lease, keep the payment confirmation, date, amount and any written account status or payoff quote. Distinguish between the Hyundai dealer and Hyundai Motor Finance when describing who handled each part of the issue.

Dealer Sales and Service Issues

A Hyundai purchase, trade-in, repair or warranty experience may involve both an independently operated dealership and Hyundai Motor America. In a review, distinguish between what the dealer said or did and what Hyundai corporate support said or did.

For a sales concern, keep the buyer’s order, advertised offer, financing or lease documents and any written promises. For repairs, keep each repair order and note whether the same symptom returned. If you escalate a concern to Hyundai, save the case or reference number and record the outcome.

Bluelink and Connected Services

Bluelink and Bluelink+ can provide eligible connected features such as remote functions, vehicle information, charging controls and enhanced roadside assistance. Available features depend on the vehicle, model year, hardware, account status and service package.

If your complaint involves Bluelink, record the vehicle, app or software version when possible, the date the issue began and whether the feature worked through another device or account. Hyundai says Enhanced Roadside Assistance can transmit the vehicle’s location when help is requested through compatible Bluelink-equipped vehicles.

Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Coverage

Hyundai’s current warranty information lists a 10-year/100,000-mile Hybrid/EV Battery Warranty for eligible vehicles, subject to the specific vehicle warranty terms. Other electric-drive components can have separate coverage.

For an EV charging complaint, note whether the issue occurred at home or at a public charger, the charger type, any error message, the approximate battery state of charge and whether the vehicle charged normally elsewhere. That detail can help readers understand whether the issue appeared specific to the vehicle, charger or location.

Service Scheduling and Maintenance Records

MyHyundai and participating Hyundai dealers provide access to vehicle information, service scheduling, maintenance resources and campaign information. Dealer appointment availability, diagnosis and repair timing can vary by location.

When reviewing a maintenance or repair experience, include the service requested, the dealer’s diagnosis, the estimate, whether additional work was recommended and whether the final invoice matched what you authorized.
