About Kia

Overview
Kia reviews and complaints can help other drivers understand a vehicle, dealership, warranty, repair, financing, roadside-assistance or connected-service experience. Share what happened, which Kia model or service you used and whether the issue was resolved. Positive, neutral and negative experiences are welcome on ZeroStars’ −5 to +5 rating scale.
Kia sells cars, SUVs, crossovers, hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles in the United States and supports owners through Kia retailers, Kia Consumer Assistance, Kia Roadside Assistance, Kia Connect, the Kia Access app and Kia Finance America. The editorial information below summarizes selected official support, warranty, recall and ownership information; it is separate from customer reviews and does not represent a survey of Kia owners.
What to Include in Your Kia Review
A useful Kia review gives enough detail for another consumer to understand the experience without exposing personal information:
- Vehicle: model, model year, trim or powertrain and approximate mileage.
- Retailer or service location: retailer name and city or state.
- What happened: sales issue, repair concern, warranty decision, recall, financing problem, roadside event or connected-service issue.
- Timeline: approximate dates, number of visits and how long the vehicle was unavailable.
- Resolution: what the retailer, Kia or Kia Finance America offered and whether the issue was corrected.
Choose the rating that reflects your own experience. A rating of 0 is valid. Do not post your full VIN, finance account number, Kia Connect credentials, license plate, home address, phone number or unredacted service documents.
Warranty and Repair Concerns
Kia’s current warranty information lists a 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty, subject to the applicable Warranty and Consumer Information Manual, exclusions and whichever limit comes first. Kia states that the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage applies to the original purchaser and to purchasers of qualifying Kia Certified Pre-Owned vehicles.
Kia also currently lists a 5-year/100,000-mile Limited Anti-Perforation Warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile Roadside Assistance plan, and separate EV system and EV battery coverage. Kia’s current warranty page lists eligible EV system and battery coverage at 10 years or 100,000 miles, subject to the applicable vehicle warranty terms.
If you dispute a warranty decision, ask the retailer to identify the warranty provision being applied and request a written repair order showing the complaint, diagnosis, parts replaced and final disposition. Keep every repair order, including visits where no repair was completed.
Recalls and Safety Campaigns
Kia provides recall information through its owner portal and lets owners review current and previous safety-recall information for their vehicle. Use the Kia recall page and your VIN to check for applicable campaigns.
If your review involves a recall, include the recall or campaign number if you know it, when you contacted the retailer, whether parts or software were available, how long the repair took and whether the remedy was completed. Avoid posting your full VIN publicly.
Roadside Assistance
Kia lists 1-800-333-4542 for Emergency Roadside Assistance. Kia’s current owner materials state that roadside assistance is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is provided on eligible new current-model-year Kia vehicles for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Roadside help can include fuel delivery, battery jump-start assistance, flat-tire help, lockout service and towing for certain warranty-related disablements, subject to program terms and limits. Kia also describes trip-interruption reimbursement when an eligible warranty-related disablement occurs more than 150 miles from home and repairs require more than 24 hours.
If your complaint involves roadside assistance, document the request time, location, estimated arrival time, towing destination and any expense you were asked to approve.
Kia Finance America: Payments, Loans and Leases
Kia Finance America handles financing and leasing for many Kia customers. Its current Contact Us page lists 1-866-331-5632 for automated account access and Customer Service, with representatives available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–9 p.m. Eastern.
Kia Finance America also lists 1-855-537-8542 for its Lease-End Servicing Team. Online account tools provide access to statements, payment history, account alerts and other account-management functions.
If your complaint involves a payment, payoff or lease, keep the payment confirmation, date, amount and any written account status or payoff quote. Distinguish between the Kia retailer and Kia Finance America when describing who handled each part of the issue.
Retailer Sales and Service Issues
A Kia purchase, trade-in, repair or warranty experience may involve both an independently operated Kia retailer and Kia America. In a review, distinguish between what the retailer said or did and what Kia corporate support said or did.
For a sales concern, keep the buyer’s order, advertised offer, financing or lease documents and any written promises. For repairs, keep each repair order and note whether the same symptom returned. If you escalate a concern to Kia, save the case or reference number and record the outcome.
Kia Connect and the Kia Access App
Kia Connect and the Kia Access app can provide eligible remote features, vehicle information, charging controls, maintenance tools, service scheduling and roadside-assistance access. Available features depend on the vehicle, model year, trim, hardware, cellular coverage, account status and active Kia Connect plan.
Kia states that its older Kia eServices platform shut down in May 2026 and directs customers to the Kia Access app for supported ownership and connected features. If your complaint involves Kia Connect or Kia Access, record the vehicle, software or app version when possible, the date the issue began and whether the feature worked through another device or account.
Electric Vehicle Warranty and Charging
Kia’s current warranty page lists 10-year/100,000-mile EV System Warranty coverage for eligible components and 10-year/100,000-mile EV Battery Coverage, subject to the applicable warranty details. Kia says battery-capacity coverage applies when capacity falls below the stated threshold under the warranty terms.
For a charging complaint, note whether the issue occurred at home or at a public charger, the charger type, any error message, the approximate battery state of charge and whether the vehicle charged normally elsewhere. That detail can help readers understand whether the issue appeared specific to the vehicle, charger or location.
Service Scheduling and Maintenance Records
The Kia Owners Portal allows customers to access vehicle manuals, warranty information, maintenance resources, recall information and service scheduling with participating Kia retailers.
When reviewing a maintenance or repair experience, include the service requested, the retailer’s diagnosis, the estimate, whether additional work was recommended and whether the final invoice matched what you authorized.
